Hi there.
Does anyone have any recommendations for nappies for a new born? I have plenty of nappies for an infant and up but nothing much to fit smaller.
Thanks.

I'm going to use prefolds and covers for the next one initially, even just cloth flats folded into a pad in a cover. Something that washes and dries quickly seeing as there are so many nappy changes in the early days...

prefolds and covers are great because they fit any size, even teeny tiny, and babies change size so much in the first few weeks.

swaddlebees are a cute little fitted nappy for newborns.

I used Little Lamb bamboo fitted nappies for the first 12 weeks or so...they were good, but leaked sometimes, think that was down to the Little Lamb cover rather than the nappy. I would use them again with a different cover, like Thirsties with the leg gussets. Absolutely bomb-proof combination.
They are so so soft on a newborn bum!

We used YoYo nappies' bamboo fleece fitted nappies with covers, for probably the first four months. We had a few pocket nappies too but the fitted plus cover system was really reliable and we very rarely had any leaks.
YoYo covers are great as they have a double leg gusset, and Jan does a newborn hire/trial pack which is great as we needed a newborn size, but couldn't really use them beyond the four months when we returned it. They're based in Nelson and all nappies & covers are NZ made.

we are using sweetpeas pocket nappies for our 1 week old - he is pretty skinny and small so was suprised they fitted. Also have some small fuzzibunz which he almost fits, but we have to be careful with leakage around the legs as he has no thigh chub (def doesn;t take after his mumma!)
eta - DD started out in old school cloth nappies using the pinless fold, they worked really well, and caught everything as they cover more leg. Just not as nice under clothes as MCNs. Also the flats tend to get pretty wet pretty quickly, so had to change them frequently
