Hi green thumbs

While on holiday my coriander went to seed, any way I can bring it back or is that normal this time of year?

Also one of my 6 broccoli plants keeps going into flower, I snapped of the main leader off when it first happened but now it just keeps on sending up heaps of flowering shoots (all the others are going great) - is this plant a write off? will it produce an head?

thanks

Hope your getting lots of time in the garden these holidays

The broccoli won't produce a head now, but you can still use the smaller shoots that are coming up the sides... Same thing happened to ours when the main head got frost damaged.

Coriander is quite well known for going to seed really quickly. I've always had trouble growing it. Our parsley has all gone to seed already too. I usually just let it do its thing and it comes back next season. I think the only way of preventing it is to regularly use the herbs - unfortunately we have so much parsley I can never keep up! Once it's gone to seed you can't bring it back...

We've had heaps of rain interspersed with sunny days...I think that's why things are bolting.

So your saying I could still eat the stems on the broccoli thats in flower?

I just chopped my coriander right back and see what it does.... not hoping for much!

When our broccoli lost the centre head it sprouted smaller single heads all around the outside, like individual florets almost. I just cut them off and ate them, they were fine.

Just remember to keep cutting back the brocolli if it goes to flower again as the flowering will encourage the other brocolli plants around it to flower also.

You are very lucky with the first plant. Coriander (the Latin name for the plant Coriandrum sativum) belongs to the umbrella family. Its fruits are fractional capsules of a round or oval shape and a hard ribbed structure, consisting of two seeds. From this steroid compound, linalool is isolated - a volatile alcohol with the aroma of lily of the valley, and from it, in turn, another terpenoid - geraniol. It is impossible to stop or accelerate its growth just like that, but it is better to transplant the plant so that it is cramped. Then you can do something. At the same time, he can bloom at any time of the year, if he wants. I bought a https://www.growgardener.com/best-rope-for-pulling-trees-here-are-5-best/" rel="nofollow - tree pulling rope for my garden to encourage less bountiful growth.

Rachel248052, it's really good that you have decided to ask this question right here because everyone should check all the pros and cons of each fire pit grate beforehand, otherwise you just will lose your money on something that won't work or look well. Here on https://mygardenzone.com/best-fire-pit-grate/" rel="nofollow - https://mygardenzone.com/best-fire-pit-grate/ you can easily check a very informative article on this theme and learn more about the best of them so I hope that you will like it too there. Feel free to write me if you still have any questions
