Hi ladies,
I have been reading many posts on this forum for a while now, so thought I would introduce myself.
I'm mid 30's, my partner is mid 20's and we have been trying for a baby for the past 4 years. I have a teenage daughter from a previous relationship. The fertility problem is all mine, my partner is fine, I only have one fallopian tube as the other was removed due to ectopic pregnancy some years ago. Didnt know the state of the remaining tube until this year, (although I have been unable to fall pregnant),when I had a HSG xray to take a look. Turns out tube is swollen and blocked, although that's bad it's good to finally know for sure what's wrong and that it's not all in my head. Sometimes you can feel so paranoid about everything your doing or not doing when you don't know.
Anyway, will be having LAP surgery sometime this year to either clip or remove the tube, as it is producing toxic water which isn't good for embryo implantation in IVF. I asked the doc at FA if I could possibly have it clipped instead of removed, as last time I lost alot of blood and recovery was long and painful with alot of swelling. I won't know til after the surgery what they were able to do as it depends on the degree of swelling I have in the tube whether they can clip it or not. So here's hoping.
After all the referrals and surgery, I am booked to start publicly funded IVF in March 2014 at FA Wellington. So excited/nervous about how it will all go, would love to hear from anyone going through similar, or just anyone at all would be great.
