Congratulations to you too! Is this your first?

I'm in Auckland.
This is my second pregnancy, previous was an ectopic. This one is an ivf baby so atleast we know it's in the right place! Going in for my second beta tommorrow hoping that baby is growing nicely.
With a couple of kids already you must know how to keep calm in early pregnancy - if you have any tips feel free to share

Hi ladies, I'm due 4th July :) I'm in a similar situation to you Kelly, I have 2 children from a previous relationship, (8 & 7)and this will be our first together.
Sara, I don't think you can ever be calm in early pregnancy lol. I've had 2 MC prior to having my girls, so I'm super anxious about this one sticking!
I live in Nelson :)

Congrats Sara, it is all very exciting. Yeah, I suppose I do have some experience, although with an almost 12 year gap, it is a bit scary

Congrats Becs!
I know what you mean, I am also afraid of this one not sticking and whole family is so excited. I suppose we just need to keep calm and wait it out:-)

Hi ladies, am day 26 of a 28 day cycle and have had tender breasts for over a week (normally only 3 days prior). I woke up and vomited this morning but got a negative preg test and this arvo started having pink blood when I wipe but none is on the liner I popped in. So confused!

Hi there
It may be too early to test, I know I tested about the same time and it was negative, then tested a day after my period was due and it was positive. Do you have any cramping? :-)

How are you lovely ladies doing? I had my second beta on Monday and it looks like my hcg levels are more than doubling every couple of days which is such a relief, after my experience with betas during my ectopic! Baby must be growing nicely.
Can anyone not relax either? I am analysing every twinge and pain. I know it's my body adjusting to the hormone changes and uterus starting to grow for baby, but I keep freaking out and running to the toilet. I'm 5 weeks tommorrow and this may sound crazy but actually hanging out for morning sickness to start. Think that will give me a little more comfort ... Twisted I know.
When did you ladies get your symptoms in your previous pregnancies?
|
Posted By: blest
Date Posted: 29 October 2014 at 5:28pm
That's great about your beta results, fingers xd that things keep going that way! I had my first GP visit today, and bloods done. He's referring me to hospital midwives due to a medical condition I have. Kind of sucks as I had an independent MW for all of my other pregnancies.
I'm a bit of a nutcase at the moment, constantly worried about mc. I know I just have to relax, because there is absolutely nothing I can do about it, but it's so hard!
I didn't get morning sickness until about 6 weeks with my first 2 pregnancies, and not at all with my 3rd. This time around everything seems to be happening earlier, and I've been feeling awful, with bloating and all of the other lovely things that come with it. I'm actually hanging out for nausea too, because it seems so normal lol.

Becs, let's see in a week or so's time when it's in full force whether we are grateful for the nausea!
I'm with you, I'm a bundle of nerves. I worry about the cramps I am getting and afraid that it's leading to bad news, but then when they go away I'm nervous that they've gone!
Wish I could just press fast forward, I'm hanging out for a couple of weeks when we go in for our ultrasound to see a beautiful heart beat!!

Glad all is going well and levels are climbing. I am still feeling bloated. Look far more pregnant than I am. Sore boobs, no sickness yet. Didn't get morning sickness with 1st one but did with 2nd. I am also analyzing everything. I don't remember feeling all these things. It has been 11 years though.
Hope you can join us soon Soda:-)

Well that was unexpected!! I had to leave work because I was feeling so tired and nauseous, got home and started dry retching for a good few minutes!!
I wasn't expecting morning sickness for another week ... It may be a one off thing but had a bit of dry retching this morning and the nausea has gotten worse during the day. Plus feeling the pressure in my belly but my friends swear to me this is normal.
I'm secretly grateful though.
And I'm struggling to be around my dog at the moment!

Date Posted: 30 October 2014 at 6:09pm
Oh no, not good. I hope you are feeling better? Glad you could go home. I have the pressure feeling too, although feeling a little better today, just hungry.
What type of dog do you have? I had a puppy while I was PG with my 2nd DD, I had to give the poor thing away, it drove me insane. I have a 16 month Labrador now, so far so good:-)

Kelly - no, no, it's good!! I'm happy with the symptoms, gives me a bit of comfort :) Crazy, eh?
We have a rottie - she's very petite, a bit smaller than most full grown labs. But she stinks at the moment, or maybe I'm less tolerant of doggy smells. She's definately getting a bath tommorrow.
I've been shovelling food down my throat except today, making myself eat with the nausea.
When's your first scan? Our is at 7 weeks as it's routine with ivf ... Bet you can't wait to see your little one on the screen too :)
|
Posted By: Kellywood
Date Posted: 30 October 2014 at 8:59pm
That is good you are happy. I know what you mean though and I am the same.
It might just be her smells, hopefully it subsides. My scan may only be at 12weeks, have an appointment with the Midwife at 10 weeks. Lucky you, get an early one. I just can't wait to hear the heartbeat, nevermind see the little one:-)
Is this your first?

Hi All. Congratulations!!! I'm joining you all with fingers crossed with a July 7/8th EDD. # 1 I'm 32 English and DH 34 Irish. We live in Auckland. We have had a tough ride TTC after a miscarriage- July 2013 and drama filled fertility treatment every month since. I have PCOS so left to my own devices I'd be 18 months between one ovulation to the nx. Now I've got the extra complications PCOS brings in pregnancy. Going to keep positive tho. Hurry up 2015 when we're all over our 14WW

Lozie - congrats and welcome! If it's any consolation my story sounds very similar to yours. We've had a rough ride too. I've got PCOS, first pregnancy October last year which was an ectopic. It's been a struggle to get pregnant, this baby is an IVF baby. I empathise with how you feel, believe me! We are also based in AUckland :)
Kelly - my second pregnancy but quite a different story as first was ectopic but we know this one is in the right place!

Thank you Kelly and Keeping the Faith for the lovely welcome x It's so nice to be able to share and it seems you're both going through the roller coaster of willing morning sickness and nerves like me! Keeping the Faith big hugs our stories seem very similar- do u mind me asking what clinic you are with? Also have you stopped/ on Metformin we don't have our clinic appointment to discuss our pregnancy plan till Tuesday and I'm reading too much online when I need to just go with it I suppose. Kelly are you using the same Midwife? Keeping the Faith have you chosen or are you staying with the clinic and a Obstetrician and Gynaecologist? Laura x

Hi Laura
You can call me Sara! I'm with repromed, who are you with? Yes I've been told by the nurse to continue with metformin, until I think week 8 or 9. We didn't get a pregnancy planning appointment though - we just have another blood test this Monday and our first scan in a couple of weeks at 7 weeks. Why don't you give the clinic a call and ask about metformin? I've done research though and from what I read metformin supports is pcos ladies in our early pregnancy.
You'll laugh but I've already booked my midwife!! She comes so highly recommended that she gets booked way in advance so thought I wouldn't take my chances. If I get told that I'm a high risk pregnancy will definately be registered with an OB.
What are you thinking you'll do?
Sara xx

Date Posted: 31 October 2014 at 10:49am
Hi Sara! I've heard Repromed are great - We used Associates and then our funding for IVF came through for Plus so we moved over - we had our orientation booked for 19th Nov and scheduled for Feb so are very shocked/happy/ nervous and trying not to be too excited whilst trying to be positive! I already have a midwife who I know I'd like to use but will wait and discuss what the clinic recommends on Tuesday- we booked in to talk about me staying on Metformin as all the sites people say stay on it and I know it could of been anything that caused my miscarriage last time but I just wonder if after six years on it it wasn't good to just stop. I'm only on it for PCOS but I am on a high dose. An Obstetrician will be more money on top of everything we have paid out so far but if they think we need one then we will have to or maybe with a hospital team! It would be nice to have my Midwife tho!!! Ooo I don't know! Where about's in Auckland are you- We're in New Windsor. If I don't Reply I'm not been rude we are just off for the weekend to Matakana with a few friends will be back online Sunday x My first big test it feels like I'm lying by not telling any of them but we are keeping it under raps! Hi Laura,
We were with Fertility Associates for our private cycle but when that failed it was by chance that we were qualified to start our public treatment with repromed straight away, we were on the wait list till March!! Might not sound like a long time to others but I know you'll know every month is agony waiting to have a baby. This baby has been two years in the making!!
We are in Riverhead near Kumeu, my midwife is registered with waitakeri so that's where I'll be in 35 weeks fingers crossed!!!
Have a lovely time in matakana, it will be hard keeping it to yourself I'm sure!
Sara xx

Hi Laura
Hope you are enjoying your time away? This is my first baby in NZ, so I have never used a midwife before, both times before were with a gynaecologist. I have chosen a midwife here in Wellington, she comes highly recommended, so I see on the 5th December .

Wow, there has been lots of movement on there, so exciting.
Welcome Katie, Sonja, Samantha and Olivia:-)
Great to have you all on board. I belong to through babycentre, I am the only Kiwi with alot of Aussie moms:-) It has been good though. So you are welcome to join up to that one too:-) I would love to be in touch with all of you as you are all reasonably close:-)
So I am happy to say that MS has not hit yet, although I think it is pending. I keep feeling nauseous at random times of the day. Boobs are still killing me and I am struggling to get comfortable when I sleep. A long few weeks ahead with that. How are you all doing with your symptoms?

Hi All! Im a newbie to this all, my partner has a 3year old to prev partner but we are now trying for my first (and his 2nd) child and a lil bro/sis for T. I am hopefully joining you all with EDD mid to end of july 2015 (fingers crossed) I had finished my pill packet near the end of september and didnt go onto a new packet as we are TTC (excitingly first time) got my WD bleed starting 30/09/14 until 06/10/2014 - currently been 5 weeks exactly since then making this day 35days since start of WD bleed. We havent held back or waited until first 'real' period since coming off the pill lol. Usually if I stop the pill I wont get 'real' first P until week 6 (42 days of cyc.. sorry dont know all the forum abrieviations everyone uses lol) so expected to be good to go between 25-30th oct (yes lots of adult time) - since then has been 10 days exactly and lately have been feeling somewhat different.. maybe just hormones off the pill but very sensitive nipples/breasts and funny feeling in my tummy ever since maybe its just my mind playing tricks on me. but will wait another week to maybe test .. how soon has everyone tested with a positive result? thanks! and good luck to all those expecting excited for you

Hi all!
I'm an IVF'er too. Baby due 30 June I think, but decided to join the July group as I hate being a straggler.
So excited to read that other people seem to be experiencing similar feelings to me. I've been freaking over the bloating and soreish feeling tummy.
HCG levels are really high starting at 350 on first blood test up to over 5000 on second and today's results came in at 35,649. Have had some brown spotting sorry TMI... freaking me out - but the clinic say it is normal with high HCG levels. Anyone else here got high HCG levels? or brown spotting?
I have a 2.5 year old boy who we had through IVF also. I thought I'd be less worried the second time round, but I'm a nervous wreck again!

Hi Lulu, Congrats!! I'm an ivf mama, this one is my first. I know how much you go through to even get to IVF so I am delighted for you!!
I am due 2nd of July, my first scan is Just over a week to confirm.
Wow, your hcgs are amazing!!! You should be really pleased!!! Did you transfer 2 embies? Or maybe you just have one very strong little one in there :)
Which clinic are you with? I'm with repromed for this cycle which is publically funded although I did have a cycle with FA privately.
Don't worry about the spotting. I have slight brownish discharge (tmi!!) that the clinic say is absolutely normal. So does my mum whose had 4 of us. If you're on pessaries like me that's probably the cause.

I am due the 9th July with baby no 2.
Child no 1 will be almost 8 1/2 by the time baby brother or sister arrives!
I don't have a lot of positive support from my side of the family.
But baby's paternal grandparents are at least slightly less unhappy about bubs.
Dad and I are happy though.
Congratulations to all

Hi All
I just found out I am pregnant (my husband and I have been trying for about 3 months) and EDD is 20 July.
I am based in Christchurch and trying to find a good midwife who has access to birthing at St Georges as I am fairly determined not to birth at Christchurch central as my family has had too many bad experiences there.
If anyone has any suggestions, they would be gratefully received.

Hey Jen Im the only other chch chicky on here at this stage. Have you checked out the 'findmymidwife' webpage? You can select a whole bunch of things you look for in a midwife and it provides you with a shortlist. I am with Jenny at Durham st midwives and she came recommended...just depends on where you live etc etc as well :) :)

Hello ladies congrats!
I got my bfp today :) I should be about 5w2d due roughly 13th July. I was on CD36 and was 90% sure I was pregnant but was terrified to test and get a bfn.
I have sore, swollen scary looking boobs, emotional wreck, twingy etc and kind of hungry/nervous nausea. Plus I'm eating everything in sight.
This is my third pregnancy after two miscarriages last year, we gave baby making a break for a while and this is the result after 4months of trying :)
Very excited, trying not to read into anything negative, just looking forward to seeing a heartbeat in a few weeks :)
Excited x

Hi Katie
I have had a look on the find a midwife website but it is a bit tricky as it seems half the people that named on forums aren't on there (maybe they all fled after the quakes) and I would like someone recommended rather than just trying to pick off of a profile I guess. Plus a lot of them don't seem to list St Georges as one of their options.
Gah, too much to think about but can't dawdle on this one.

we're in Auckland and I'm due to 10th July, this will be our second miracle after trying unsuccessfully to for two years, we welcomed our beautiful daughter in August 2013 after a failed IUI attempt and she totally happened out of the blue... this time, I was planning to start trying in the new year but it seems bean had other plans for me so we're super excited... I didn't bother to wait the 12 weeks before telling people, the whole world pretty much already know our news :)

Hi everyone,
Congratulations Kelly, Sara, Becs and all the rest of you who have joined the due in July 2015 group! I have finally just come on here today (it's Tuesday 18th November) to join you all.
I'm very excited to announce that I am pregnant with my first baby!!
I am 5 weeks today and my EDD is 19th July 2015.
My fiancé Todd and I only found out our exciting news on Monday last week (which was also our 18 months anniversary!) and we are over the moon.
We just have fingers crossed that everything is healthy and normal with this baby -- sadly we have lost two babies in the past 12 months (I had a miscarriage in November last year, then we lost a baby girl with Edwards Syndrome in April. It was the hardest thing either of us have ever had to go through....). The next 8 weeks are going to be nerve-wracking for us until we get through the 13 week screening scan/tests (which is where things turned upside down for us with little Hope in March).
It was 6 & 1/2 months between when our angel Hope was born on 8th April and when we conceived this baby -- but I was bleeding for 8 weeks after Hope was born until I finally had to have a D & C on 2nd June (what a disaster that was and very stressful after everything else we had been through!) So it actually only took us 4 & 1/2 months to conceive, naturally on our own (all we did was buy a Clearblue Ovulation Test to use this cycle and it worked!!) :) I am 39 years old now and feel very grateful to have had no trouble getting pregnant all three times (our two little angels were both conceived straight away, within two weeks!)
So far everything is going well with this pregnancy, I usually feel very nauseous during the mornings and one and off at other times, my boobs are getting very tender and I feel very tired and drained at times, but otherwise I feel good and healthy. I had an appointment with my lovely GP on Tuesday last week (as soon as we found out I rang my Doctors to see her) and I'm in the process of finding a lovely LMC (Midwife). We live in Patumahoe, I wonder if anyone else in this group also lives in Pukekohe/Franklin area?
It's great to meet a group of new friends on here, most of you who are also having your first baby -- and all due in July! I look forward to hearing how you all go and keeping in touch.
I was on The Mighty Two Week Wait Forum for quite a while so some of you may recognise me (Soda! How are you going??) I will just focus on this group now and fingers crossed everything works and this is third time lucky!
Hugs & good luck to everyone, Shannon xxx

Hi there everyone!
Congratulations to you all on a positive pregnancy test! Wishing you well on your pregnancy journey.
This is our first baby as well! First grandchild on both sides of the family... It is a very exciting yet anxious time really...
My husband and I live in Wellington. I came off the pill October 2013 and so it has taken about 13 months to get pregnant! It was actually my dad who noticed when he gave me a hug last Monday that I was radiating a lot of heat. I thought maybe I am coming down with a virus or something. There were other little signs - bloating, very hot at night and feeling a bit tired. So after my dad commented I came home and did a test by myself (we have had negative results in the past and I just wanted to see for myself first). The test was a real quick positive! Went to the doctors last Tuesday and it too came up positive very very quickly! We have decided to go with a private obstetrician and her midwives through Southern Cross Specialist Services. Have heard a lot of stories from people re: public midwives care particularly during leading up to the birth and the birth process.
Since then I have become quite sickly which means I need to eat every 2-3 hours. Not nauseous just a bit queasy and once I have eaten I am good to go! Very tired particularly during the middle of the day, very hot at night, going to the toilet a lot more and very very bloated.
My husband thinks I maybe a bit further along than 5-6 weeks as last month I had a very brief period kind of thing. Was odd and not 'normal'. We have our scan on the 9th December so that should tell us a lot about how far along we are etc.
Would love to get to know people as we go along this journey and have others who are going through similar things as it is quite hard to describe sometimes how I feel to my husband.
I have told my mum and dad but we are waiting to tell my husband's parents - my mother in law would tell the whole neighbourhood in 10mins if she found out before the 12 week mark. Just want to keep it on the low for a few more weeks.
Look forward to hearing more about how others are feeling etc.
Cheers, Lisa

Hi. I just got a positive last Friday, had two lots of bloods for HCG and my GP has given me an EDD of 4th August, but could be late July.. And there is no August group yet. So here I am. GP reckons I'm three and a half weeks from LMP.. But we were trying for number two even though I hadn't gotten my period back since having number one (my first is 13 months)

Hi everyone,
For those of you who live in Wellington Kelly and I were thinking of meeting for a cuppa next weekend Sat 29 or Sun 30th Nov? If you can't make this one, not to worry as we will be organising others in the not so distant future ;-)
I am unavailable Saturday 29th afternoon but either Saturday morning or Sunday morning at either Muffin Break or Peppermill in Poriua at 10-10:30am? Does this work for you guys?
Cheers, Lisa

Hi everyone and Congratulations.
This will be baby nr2 for me and I think I am more nervous about the second than the 1st. It took us 7yrs to conceive nr 1 and he is turning 2 in Jan. Did a preg test a week ago and got a faint line, and re did it again the next day and got another slightly darker positive line. I guess that is why I am so nervous, DH reckons nah its fine- no stress. I did realise after doing both tests that I was suppouse to leave the stick in the liquid for 3-10mins, I was way too excited to wait for that.
My due date would be the 28/29th July.

Now I wonder am I having a boy or a girl because with my son I wanted salty things. Lately I have been wanting all things sweet. Have been wanting dessert every night with dinner- not that I can even fit it in.

are you able to get a rest? are you working/at home with kids? I remember when I was pregnant with no.2 I used to put kids channel on tv and lye on couch with my eldest and we'd both watch and fall asleep together - special memory <3

Hi everyone, my name is Sarah. I have a son turning 3 in Feb and another son who is 9 months old on Dec 11th. I have polycystic ovaries so we stopped using contraception a month ago thinking it would take 6 months or so to conceive like it did with our other boys...and I was pregnant within 2 weeks. Was very shocked but the last 24 hours has seen me come to realise we are very lucky and although our house will be chaotic, it will be full of love. I have to have a dating scan yet but think I am due around the end of July, so I think I am around 5 weeks prego. Am feeling very tired all of a sudden - have had two arvo naps in a row and I am quite groggy afterwards.
