I was/am(?) a guy who appreciates a good bottle of bourbon. Probably more than I should - but let's deal with that later.

I am currently working very hard with CICO and 4 nights a week at the gym. I'm only in my 2nd week (this time), so no real change to speak of as yet. I have been 100% alcohol free for over a week now - and I love that - but this weekend I'm supposed to go out with friends and whatnot and this has been planned for a while to live it up and "tie one on" as it goes...

I've been managing for 2 weeks now to do very well for myself on a 1500 calorie a day diet. I've been eating well, getting greens and fruit often. And it's been good.

My question is about moderation and drinking - is it considered moderation to only drink 1 night out of 7? Would that massive uptick in empty calories counteract all of the calorie-deficient days I've had for a week? I know the answer is "Well, just don't drink." - but like I said, this is an event we've all been looking forward to and I want to enjoy it with my friends. They wouldn't care if I spent the night drinking water, but I'd still like to let-loose. Life/work is hard enough without a release and a night free of kids with adult company and alcohol sounds amazing right about now.

And really - I just wanted some advice from someone who may or may not have been through this in their own journey.
