Swollen eye lids and flaky skin

I had my first baby boy a few days ago. From the very beginning his left eye lid was a bit more red than the other, and he kept this particular eyes not so open than the other one. During birth the docs tried to suck the baby out but then I had to do a c section. Now the lid has swollen a bit...see photo. Also his hands have flaky skin.
