Random observation, but what sort of thermometer are you using Teresa? Your temps seem quite low?

Sh might be a colder person I think. I was noticing that about someone else's chart I was looking at the other day. It is funny, but my "regular" middle of the day temp is 36.5. Anything lower or higher and I feel sick. I found it quite a buzz to see my temp so low and shoot up around ovulation

Emma I've got just an ordinary thermometer, haven't bothered buying a special one because I'm just doing a little bit of charting for interest only. And for that reason I'm temping under the arm, I think that's why the temps are lower. But I still figure I'll get an overall picture (once I've hung in there a bit longer). My temps are a little over the place but that's probably because I haven't yet ovulated since Krystiana was born. Getting cramps though!

Oh we are both on CD 19 Angie I think your cycle is much shorter than mine though!
Sheza, I've put up a post on temping basics just so you can get an idea. It is pretty straigh forward
WRXchick, I am much the same LOL I even forgot to take my folic acid this morning . I think it is just leave a pad and paper on your night stand with your thermometre and take your temp as you hit your snooze button (or pretend your baby isn't crying LOL!).

Just flicking this over to the next page.
Hope you get another temp rise and BFP tomorrow Angie, your chart looks FAB!
Busymum, are you still under arm temping? You should give oral temping a go for a month and see if it gets your temps a bit less erratic.
How are you going Toni?
Noodle, have you BD'd your little heart out for the past couple of days? hehe!!
I am hoping my temp rise is promising. I don't feel preggers though so it probably isn't!

I'm doing alright - but forgot to take my temp over the weekend

Are you all sure that my chart looks right? It's all over the place and I KNOW I'm not pregnant (or at least I think I know )

I might try to "icky" way of temping next month and see what that does

Good luck Angiebabe!

I dunno if my chart looks good or not this is my first cycle temping so don't know what usual for me or not... the last couple of days and especially today, I've felt this weird kind of nothingness about it all if you'd asked me last week if this was going to be THE month I would've said a cautious 'yes' but not today...

As long as your chart shows a clear rise around O and good signs of fertility I am sure it will be fine Toni.
Angie, 14dpo is awesome! Do you usually have a long LP?
Busymum, what about taking your temp as you get up to Kristiana? It would be after your biggest block of sleep anyways - which is the most important thing.

Hi guys!

Yip i'm on CD 22 I had blood tests done yesterday to check progestrone levels and because my estroghn levels were low on my day 12 bloods they were checked for aswell, So i got the results back today and they are both low so i havnt ovulated and i'm probably not going to any time soon. (stubborn ovaries even with clomid!!! ) so the nurse at the fertility clinic spoke to the doctor and he said to wait until about CD 35ish (if no AF before then) then do a pregnancy blood test just to make sure i'm not preg, and then i have to take provera again to bring on AF and then increase the dosage of clomid to 150mg and start all over again and see of my ovaries will behave this time!

So i'll just keep on charting and BD until then!!!

what a me post! hope everyone else is ok!

NO AF or TWW for us as we're not actually TTC just yet, aiming for January. I'm charting because it took us 18 months to get Caitlin and I don't want to wait that long this time so hopefully with 8 months worth of charts we'll have a better starting point than before (I didn't chart, just went with CD14 as my O day (according to this months chart my O day is CD18 *rolls eyes at self* I wish I'd known about FF before when we were TTC #1

Even if we do end up on the long road then at least I'll have something to show the specialists

Big hugs Toni, I know how you feel, I was TTC for ages before Olivia arrived and actually gave up LOL! It is scary. I do wonder if my current cycle problems have to do with my fear of becoming pregnant, if that causes anxiety. But I was anxious in general before TTC so *shrug* that is just life I guess, there is always something to worry about.
Have stopped charting for a couple of days, was actually meant to start again this morning but forgot You get that in the big jobs I guess.
Noodle, your chart goes really with what your OBGYN said. Interesting (to weird old me anyways) about getting the surge and not ovulating though. This is why I trust temperatures more than OPK's, you can see in Black and White how your cycles are going. Best of luck for next month honey
Toni, what did you think of your first month?
I need to get my BD on as well Angie, O time for me as well *snuggle snuggle cycle buddy*

and yea peace i thought that was intresting aswell having the surge and then no ovulation maybe my ovaries wanted to but just couldn't do it! ha ha ha, I'm being a bit slack in the temping department at the moment i just thought i would wait until I get AF again after my provera and be more into it then. Quite nice to have wee rest from it although if i wake up on time i'll have a check every now and then

Yea toni what did you think of your 1st month?

Well I had another slight rise in temp this morning and if I sneakily put another in for tomorrow (just to check ) my crosshairs come up and point to CD13 as OV day and I got a strong positive on my OPK test on CD14 - got some BDing in around then so while not perfect I think I've still done enough, now just gotta wait and see how it all pans out!

AngieBabe, you usually ovulate the day after a positive OPK. You said you got the positive OPK on CD14 and as its now CD15 for you maybe you should try and get another BD in tonight just to be safe. Good luck

I got a positive OPK test on CD13 as well, just not as strong as yesterday so guessing I caught the LH surge on the way up and then down but yeah, was going to get one more 'session' in tonight to cover my bases!!

It was interesting to see what my temps did and when especially when I got really painful O pains, I logged it on the chart and sure enough I got the crosshairs the next day

I hope I didn't screw this month up though as I forgot to take my temp for 3 days in a row, but does it matter because AF was here?

Not at all Toni, I missed a big load of temps in the middle which should probably be a bit more of a problem. I haven't ovulated yet though. I have had pains today though so I will be hopefully O'ing tomorrow.

Well, I got my crosshairs today and it's showing OV on CD13 although personally I suspect it closer to CD14 judging by how I was feeling etc... managed to get some more BDing last night too so hopefully have covered my bases - now it's just that TWW part, ick!

Seems FF now agrees with my suspicions as after I put my temps in for this morning it decided to change my OV day to CD14 so I am still on 3dpo! Doh, makes my TWW that little bit longer

Just thought I'd update this a bit, think I got it right ... so how is everyone going anyways? Me, well I'm 6dpo and not feeling much at all in the way of possible symptoms and all that - got lots to keep me occupied until AF due too which should stop me from testing way too early!

my chart is all over the place again

I have a question, do the crosshairs always show up after ovulation? So I should just keep an eye on CD18 to see if I O again at the same time for the next couple of months then plan our BDing around that date come January?

I'm guessing that's the idea of it but as FF is not completely foolproof I would say that if your temps are a bit randomish it might not pick up OV for you... can you get one of the people on FF to have a look at your chart and comment (or is that a VIP feature?)... sorry, I'm not much help!

Noodle: If I count up on my fingers when you had your estrogen surge was, I wonder if that was why you had no AF. If you had no AF but your cycle just kept on doing it's norm then technically you will be CD12? I will be most interested to hear about your BT, please keep me posted!

According to last months chart I should have O'd on Tuesday and due AF in 5 days

Well I've been pretty lazy (as you can probably tell LOL), but I'm going to start charting again. Still don't have my first AF which has been a surprise to me, I was expecting it 4-6 weeks ago LOL. DH is setting the alarm clock for 7am these days so I'm gonna start charting at that time each day, regardless of whether I've been up to Kryssi at 5.30am At least then I'll be back in the habit.

Teresa.. are you planing preg or just curious (sorry should read back.. but haven't)

hhhm have thought about this but might take it simply this month and go from there, have just finished first post-m/c Af just a week ago so figure from maybe yesterday onwards-ish should be about right to try considering cycles for me can be from 27 to 34 days-ish. but have BD a few times in the last week, and over weekend today lol, anyways (TMI) Am going to take full advantage of the fact that mike has said yes to trying this month, lol. hhm, if it doesn't work then i'll give charting a try but usually i can tell by my body what's going on. if not.. i will be here asking far too many questions. lets hope i don't

he he yay for three temps busymum nope the rise is due to the provera i am taking to bring on my AF so i can do another round of clomid provera is basically a synthetic progestrone and when the levels drop (after not taking them for 2-3 days) AF should come

good luck for this month mum2paris

This cycle is REALLY weird, I got the cramping (what I think or O pains) 2 days before I got the temp rise and the crosshairs, so going by last months chart I should have AF now but no sign at all

wtg Janine I'm just taking temps out of curiosity as I haven't had an AF since Krystiana was born (I'm sure I haven't ovulated/conceived in that time). But after Hannah I got AF at 2mos and Briona was 3mos. Kryssi is 5mos so umm hello? Nice to have a break but because it's so different it's a bit scary sometimes too LOL.

Thanks Noodle

Well I know I haven't done much this month but I don't think I'm near ovulating yet. My temps are all far too similar, not up and down like you guys'. I'll keep going for a bit though but I reckon I've got at least another month before AF returns. *relaxes* lol

Seems not much has been happening for us in charting land lately...

I've got a wee question tho'- I know sleeping with your mouth open can lower temps taken orally, so I'm guessing getting chilled during the night has the same effect in lowering body temps?

We had a -2deg frost here this morning and hubby decided to nick my part of the extra blanket so I was a bit cold just before temp taking time.

Hi girls, sorry I was meant to post before now LOL, but stuff happens.
Thanks for the recommendation Jess but I was ill with D's and V's as well as doing middle of the night trots to Olivia so they are disregarded for a good reason. And anyways, have abandoned charting this month due to Olivia's night wakings and what not. I wont be taking a TTC break at all but it is nice not to think "THERMOMETRE!" when I first wake up. I think I might make this a regular occurance, it really goes to show me how charting can make you a little mad!
Toni, how are you feeling about the whole charting thing now?
Noodle, those are some great steady temps! What is your IF game plan this month?
Angie, 3DPO!! I hope you were like the egg this month and *got laid* hehehe
Busymum, good to hear AF will be returning. That is an almighty temp drop! Are you orally temping now?

I've read somewhere that a complete flatline temp chart can indicate your thermeter batteries can need changing but if it's not that I dunno!

It is 'normal' (whatever that is!) to have small fluctuations in temp - I'm the opposite tho', mine tend to be too rocky...

Noodle, the month I got pregnant my temperatures were really steady. There were only a few that were a little different, the rest were nearly flat until ovulation when it jumped and then stayed steady there too. So it's not always a bad sign As long as the batteries are fine and you are still taking them as usual, I would say it would be a good thing. You would think that our body temperatures should remain fairly consistant (until the ovulation jump of course). Good luck this round
