Well, have just come from the bedroom. I've been feeling really crappy recently, I think I told you I had that big bleed thing and then nothing, and stuff has been weird. Well, I decided to go to the doctor but thought I would do pregnancy test first, to rule anything out...well,...you can guess the result.
I'm really unsure about all this. I mean jake is still a bubba and I know some of you have babies close togthether but I always thought we would have ours spaced out a little more. And another baby means we would ave to come back to NZ and as much as I love NZ, my husband loves japan so muhc, he doesn't have much in the way of qualifications. I feel like I am bringing him back to nothing if we come back. I just don;t know how to tell him. We had all these plans and now it looks like we won't be able to do it. To tell the truth it was the same wiht Jake, we had all these plans and we adjusted, but we would have to move COUNTRIES, get new jobs and have a new bubba all at the same time. OMG OMG OMG. I just don't know how to feel or what to do. I gues a part of me kinda wants to come home...oh i don't know what I want. Life should do what I tell it, not do its own thing. How rude!

wow lizzle.. you sound like you are freaking out a fair bit (which is perfectly ok.. i think a fair few of us have done that lately!) why would you have to move countries? is it about the number of kids you are allowed in japan or am i thinking of china?
All i can say is think of the advice you would usually give to anyone else who posted on here. Tell him. It is not something you should have to go through alone.. you have to do it sometime and while it seems like it's better to delay the inevitable, the sooner you tell him the sooner you can work it all out, talk it through and figure out what is best for you all.
Yes, he may love Japan, but i am very very sure that he loves you more.
calm down, talk to him, tell him exactly all your feelings.. exactly what you have written on here.. and take it from there.
I know where you are coming from.. me and mike had big plans too, i would graduate, we'd both be working, things would be different the second time around.. but hey, plans change, and not always for the worse.. just different. I told mike straight away, I can't keep this sort of thing to myself. He freaked out, and it took him a while to get used to it, but now he is a wonderful dad to his 2 girls. I'm still getting there with nursing, still relying on his wage for another 12 months, and trying to juggle 2 kids. but i wouldn't change it for the world.
big hugs to you, keep us posted, you'll work it all out, you just have to give him a chance to think it through too. don't go out of your mind worrying about what he might or might not think..find out for sure.

wow Lizzle, geez what a huge shock for you! So how far along are you? My sisters were 13months apart and were pretty close had the same friends etc. How come you would have to come back to nz? Is it for support from your family? Have you been to the doctor yet? Just quite worried about you with the bleed and all, Please get it checked out if you havent alreaday as it could be an eptopic pregnancy. Big hugs.

Gosh....I can see why you are panicking.....but again why do you have to move back to NZ? As far as I knew China has a restriction on the number of babies allowed per couple.....
I agree with Janine and Maria..tell your hubby and get your self to a doctor.
Big coming your way.....Keep us posted!

I'd have to come back just because we couldn't afford the daycare costs, it would work out that any money we were earning over here would be eaten by that, and just be really difficult. Wed need a bigger place which would cost a ton of money too. Just costs would escalate to the point where living here would no longer be viable.
Told huybby last night and both of us are in a bit of a shocked state, however last nights terrrorist news about london certainly put things in perspective, and we are trying to think positively, but I'll go to the doctor on the weekend first before we make any concrete plans about what we are doing. thanks everyone!!

was thinking today about how i was really sure i was not pregnant, but had an inkling that if I wasn't, something was really wrong. My mum had cancer at 21 and I was feeling like maybe I would have cancer or something.
So today I was thinking, I'll be going home to have a bewautiful bubba, it could have been I was going home to have chemo. It could be a really bad situation, and it's not!!! So am feeling positive and upbeat about this...scared as anything about the future, but I refuse to see this as "ruining our life"
thanks for everyone's support!

I want to say congrats, but I'm not sure if that's what you want! But I'm glad you told your hubby, so you guys can do all the decision making together. And Jake will love having a baby brother or sister, there's only 13 mths between me and my brother and a lot of the time we want to kill each other but mostly it's ok.
Good luck with your decision making.

Whn i left with jake he was six weeks old and i felt so guilty as they have already missed out on so much, so i guess there is a silver lining. that and have already began to imagine food that I'lkl be able t6o eat on a regular basis. I am going to weigh like 200kg!

|

Party at McDonalds.. lol - costs less than having a huge do at home like i did last year, less stressful, and I don't have to clean up - it's a win-win situation. Just have to go through the cake books with Paris and see which one she wants. I know she's nuts on Hi-5, but i don't wanna buy one of those cakes with just a picture of them on it.. I like creative cakes.. made by me. lol.

yeah, I've been debating over Jake's first birthday cake since he was about three monthsold!!
|
Posted By: mum2paris

Paris's was miffy cos she was obsessed with miffy at that stage.. and i couldn't find anything miffy.. so handmade the invites, and just had blue red and yellow balloons and streamers, and plates and cups. I think i went a little overboard.. but it looked so kewl. Am thinking she might go for a spot, laa-laa or my little pony cake this year.
so, have you come up with what cake you are gonna have, or still thinking?

have decided on a "bob the builder" theme. jake isn't really keen on anything at the moment so I can decide hehehe. I like Bob. Mum is going to send some stuff over and we have an amzing 100yen store (like the $2 shop, but with fantastic stuff - one nearby is seven floors!!!). In the Aussie wwbirthday cookbook, there is a dumptruck which i think I can convert slightly. So we'll go to the zoo, have birthday food there, and have the cake when we get home.
the only stuff jake likes now is anything noisy and anything we say he can't have (dad's cell, the video, CDs, the sub woofer)

yeah, the good thing about first birthdays and first xmases is you can get all the "first" stuff, the basics.. we got stuff like building blocks, stacking cups, shape sorters all that.. now we just build on it each xmas ans birthday. Paris has so much little people stuff it's scary - i think i'm addicted to buying it.
bob the builder is so kewl.

Kiya's first birthday I did a teddybear's picnic at the playground at the Hamilton Gardens - I was a single mum on the DPB and money was tight, so I bought a couple of big bottles of water, a couple of watermelons and made a piglet cake! Worked out great! All the kids just ran around and played. So not stressful at all!
For her second birthday, Kiya wanted a Hi-5 cake, so I went onto their website and found the Hi-5 hand, copied it into Word and printed it out big (black and white so I didn't use up all my ink!) then I made a square cake and cut around the hand shape, then iced it the right colours. She was stoked!

ha ha, well - this is going to be harder than i thought. We sat down and went through my cake decorating books. each time you turn the page she likes that cake. lol
so far, we have narrowed it down (??) to laa-laa, spot, bananas in pajama wish fairies, or my little pony. argh, don't ask me which it will be. I think i may just make a decision for her.
That's a kewl idea about the hi-5 hand though.

i'm a bit behind with topic reading.
lizzle... anything is possible, just gotta think positive!!! i'm sure you, lewis and jake will cope really well, and even if it means you have to come home, you can always return to japan later on...?
i didn't exactly plan to be a single mum at 20, but in all honesty my life is a lot more meaningful and easier (?) than it would have otherwise been. it's easier because i don't stress about the silly things that 20 year olds do. i've got better things to waste my time on!
change can lead to unexpected happy results!!!

I'm actually feeling pretty good about it now. I'm off to the doctors on tueday and was thinking "what if that bleed I had meant that there was no baby left", and I felt a little upset. I kinda thought that deep down i would feel relief, but not really!! And am really looking forward to coming home. Lewis and I have been talking about some various options we have. One option is me going back and hm stayinghere, not splitting up or anything, justr living apart. I mentioned it as a compromise, but I'm pretty sure he couldn't be apart from jake for that long. So I'm giving him the option, and he is considering it and feeling happy, but really I'm sure he can't do it. Sneaky!!

lol about the cats. i just got pictures in my head of these dumb cats sitting there while jake bites them.
We are bird-sitting right now for the in-laws.. paris was petrified of him for a while, and still doesn't want to walk past the cage sometimes, but for the most part she has now cottoned on to the fact that he's scared of HER. so goes up to him and talks to him. and he jumps around and hisses at her and goes all puffy and she thinks it's just great. she also goes up to him when he's being noisy and says "shut up archie!!" hhhm i think i may have to watch what i say.. but the damn thing always waits till ayja's just gone to bed to start making all the fricken noise in the world! only 3 more days till the in-laws come back thank god

Maya has turned into a really fussy monkey lately, I swear she lives on crackers, oranges and bread and butter. She won't have jam or marmite on her toast, won't eat any of the veges she has been ating for months and won't touch her meat either. But unfortunately for her she has a mean mother and I keep serving up meat and veges time after time, I figure eventually she will either get over it, lr get hungry enough to eat it.

Atleast you guys can put their behaviour down to an age thing, though I guess that doesn't make it any less annoying.
My little mongrel was refusing everything except fruit and dessert but I rang Plunket and implemented Operation "Take the power back" and now she eats anything I put in front of her or she goes hungry.
Was very sick of being walked all over but the plan seems to be working because she eats lots more and now sleeps through the night again! yay!!!

argh, paris has decided that no veges are good at all, andn ow meat is no good either. for a while there as long as you put tomato sauce on it she would eat it (we only put a few dots), now the crafty little poo scoops up the tomato sauce and eats that and that's it, and will put the meat in her outh, suck off the sauce and spit the rest out. she used to eat yogurts, has now decided that nope, she won't eat them either. she also used to think nuggets were all good.. tonight she wouldn't even touch them.i think i am going nuts. i wish i could do the take the power back thing.. i'm trying but it just aint working!!! i never thought i would have this trouble with er, she used to be such a good eater.. now i swear she gets sick cos she's not eating enough.. i could give her vitamins, but she needs to learn to eat. good to know i'm not alone though.

Threats work with Alyssa. Like if you dont eat 2 more peices of dinner (have to make it acheiveable) you wont be able to play your nemo game. Or no hairy mclairy story. It works for us. Dont know if thats what your ment to do though. We have a sticker chart for her doing poos in toilet but i dont think that would work with food. Shes usally pretty good though (back to food) but have to use threats to get her to try veges. I guess lucky she likes fruit.

We use threats too, kind of. Maya is always asking for bread so I'll tell her "eat two pieces of meat then you can have a bread". Worked well last night, I made her ea two chunks of kumara and she liked it so much she asked for more! But didn't touch the meat, or the carrot, or the potato or the brussels. I just kinda live on the naive hope that she actually eats veges at daycare coz her friends are eating them.

nup, with paris, all she hears is what she will get, she doesn't get the "if you eat this" part of it.
She used to eat really well at daycare, but aparently it's become the same there, she used to love pasta.. now won't touch it. won't eat fruit at morning snack, no veges, no meat.. they just give her sammies now.. glad they decided to tell me this today! argh!
we stopped the bottle cos we thought that was what was filling her up and making her not want to eat.. that worked for a week.. and she still was fussy. but then, she's been saying about wee-wees alot. at first i thought it was just that she was becomming aware of when she was going.. but on and off for a few weeks now she has actually been upset when she goes,so imade her drink more water just in case it was that. but now she will cry. and it has gotten to the point where sometimes yesterday she wouldn't want to sit down. she's drinking heaps, yet her nappies have been dry (thought maybe she was going heaps at daycare, but no, they only tell me this today as well that her nappies are dry there too.. even though i asked them about it a few weeks ago) so i guess it's off to docs tonight. hopefully we can get to the bottom of this.. and maybe once whatever is wrong is fixed she might feel like eating again. here's hoping.

Sounds like a UTI Janine
Roksana - I am feeling GINORMOUS My tummy is soooo heavy and I am hardly sleeping at night (but I sleep well in the morning after Peter goes to work so that is OK) and can hardly wait for baby to arrive! But I think I have been really lucky and had a great pregnancy so far! I have even only had heartburn twice and that was ages ago, my tummy has always been really low! I just bought a new outfit as Peter's work do is in 2 weeks and it is formal, had NOTHING to wear! But thank goodness PP is having a sale and I got a lovely outfit for only $50! Yay!

I am 26 weeks and not too big and yet finding it very difficult to sleep or get comfortable...when I sleep on my side, the baby kicks really hard!
If I sleep on my back, "apparently" I snore in a funny way....and I am feeling heavy so getting back aches. Ah the joy of pregnancy!!!!
At least you only have 5 weeks to go...imagine me...14 weeks!!! Oh well It will be all worth it!!

Oh poor paris. Does sound like a urine infection. Try and get as much water as you can into her. May give her some cranberry juice. Bath in epsom salts is ment to be good as well.

Poor Baby!
Hope she gets better....urine infection is not the best thing to have (child or adult).
I agree with Maria...all those things are meant to be helpful. Keep us updated!

yep, have to try and get a specimen to get it tested, but also found out she has a sore throat etc as well, so antibiotics for that. very hot and feverish tonight, after pamol temp is still 38 but keeping eye on her.
Roksana did you know that you shouldn't really sleep on your back from about 20 weeks? baby can press on major arteries and cut down blood supply.. could also be why you get back aches.
hey ana, you sound like me - both times i was preggers i had mike's work do to go to. luckily i had a big pair of jeans from my larger days which fit me nicely (scary to think that those fitted me very snuggly when i was larger before i lost weight.. yet were loose on me when i was full term both times!) and i got a great long top with ruched side that could be adjusted. it fitted round my tummy nicely but made me look huge!

Roksana - the best thing to do is to put a pillow under your tummy when you lie on your side, you feel heaps more supported, I started doing that really early on, even when my tummy wasn't very big! Definately helps sleep.
Janine - I would have worn jeans too but the invite said "formal" grrrr. and as Peter hasn't been there long I didn't want to make a bad impression Hope Paris is feeling better soon.

yep, put one behind your back and wedge it under yoiur side, and one under your tummy doing the same thing, and lol, if you stick one between your knees (if you usually curl your legs up) it takes the pressure off. i was like the pillow queen, mike had no room in our bed.
bummer about the formal thing..
argh, i am missing out on cocktails tonight at mike's work's new building opening.. makes it a long day when he left at 7.30 this morning and won't be back till 7.30 tonight.. and i have a sick kid and a baby that is being a grommet today. oh well, will get him back when i go on nursing placements.. just think of all those 12 hours shifts that he will have to do the bedtime routine etc.. (not that i'll be awake enough by the end of them to gloat about it)

Well...I am a bit bigger now but not big enough (I feel). My Doc and midwife say I am the right size...hmmm
I still haven’t bought any maternity cloths......but have decided that I now need to (as the two remaining pants that use to fit me are getting a bit too tight).
My mum think I am hardly showing still...I think people who don’t know I am pregnant still think I am FAT ...he he ha ha.
I am starting to get a few stretch marks on top half of my tummy so I guess I am about to get bigger??!! But I sure feel heavy!!!

Hrmm Janine, can't help but thinking that Paris being sick was maybe why she wasn't eating properly? Or has it been going on for ages?
Found anything out yet?

lol, Roksana - my tummy just went from nothing to the biggest thing in the world overnight almost!! I still haven't got any stretch marks but I am not holding my breath - still 4 weeks to go and I am sure they will kick in soon! Have been really good about putting stuff on my belly though, even though that isn't supposed to work....
Janine - I hope Mike doesn't get home tooooo late, I hate it when Peter goes out by himself, lol, I can never sleep until he gets home!

I started getting stretch marks really early..on the bottom half of my tummy and now I am getting a few on the top half....I have to go and get some cream to help with that.
Mum says my skin is not very flexible....so I am getting stretch marks....that could be why I am not huge yet...but just like you Ana, I have a feeling that I will wake up one day and have a massive tummy..lol
Gosh 4 weeks to go for you....wow!!!

try palmers cocoa butter formula.. it's great, i used it from the start both times though, but it's not too late cos it can help the ones you do have fade as well as making skin beautifully soft and it smells so yummy.
I don't have any stretch marks either, it's great.
Roksana, they say that people with stronger abdominal muscles can show later, and the muscles don't stretch as readily.. i must say that was the case for me with my first pregnancy, after beinga gymnast for over 11 years i think that has helped alot with being fit for pregnancy.
ha ha, becks, Paris is on amoxicillan too at the mo for a sore throat. still waiting on results of wee-test lol, but pretty sure it will come back as a uti. and yep she's starting to eat again, omigod i even got her to eat apple this morning! only 2 pieces, but still it's a start.. lets just wait and see how she does with the veges i plan to give her tonight.

yep, that cocoa butter formula is great, I have been using Clarins toning aromatherapy stuff most of the pregnancy but I did go through a tube of that palmers one at the start.
becca - that would be a miracle, my mum has really bad ones, isn't it supposed to be genetic?? I wouldn't mind not getting any though

I had hideous stretch marks after Maya was born, like big fat worms, probably because I didn't put anything on them, but now I use the Body Shop Body Butters and they have faded (with time) to almost non existent.
