lol with the anniversaries. Me and mike will have been together 6 years next feb. can't forget each other's birthday cos his is the day before mine, the 2nd and 3rd of march. and like your hubby Roksana, Mike firstly remembered out anniversary because the day we met, January 19th was the day of one of the biggest stock-car meetings in the north island... and we started going out a month later on febuary 19th. pretty easy to remember. meant to get married this year feb 19th cos i was supposed to have graduated. we'll get there one day.

I wish ours was a big romantic story, but in reality I was a bit of a wayward teenager (seems sooooo long ago LMAO!) and I went to a party at his house, got really drunk, ended up in Willie's bed and moved in the next day. Oh, and did I mention that I was 19 and he was 41. Hmmmmm, can you just imagine what my parents said? But it must have been fate, coz 5 1/2 years later here we still are.

me and mike were a set up sort of. I had just come out of a particularly insteresting break up with a guy who was like 3 years older than me i think. i had said no more set ups cos i had been set up with the last guy through one of my mates. my sis said one of her friends wanted to meet me turns out he was boarding with his aunty who was my sister's friend. he reckons he was smitten with me from the start, but i strung him along for a month before agreeing to go out with him. truth is, i thought he wasn't really my type, too small and fiesty, lol. we got engaged a year later on our anniversary, and the rest is history. we broke up for a month, about a week before i found out i was preg with Paris, lucky for us after having a few weeks to think things through we decided to give it another go and here we are.

I met Atish at Uni (He was doing Engineering and I was doing Finance). He was the "popular Guy" all the girls wanted and I hated guys who thought they are GOD. So I was not interested at all. I think that's what got him interested on me....One day by mistake we started chatting on the net (sitting in the same computer room at uni). But never spoke to each other (this went on for 3 months). One day he asked me out (yes while chatting). By then I realized he was not "up him self" and I said yes (3rd of June 1997) we went out and said first words to each other.
We broke up twice. Once for a month and second for a day....He he ha
And here we are...

I knew Lewis for about three years. He moved out of his flat, and I moved in. His ex-flatmates were friends of his from school so he still came around. We became friends, and just hung out for a while. Then one day, we went on a date, and that was that. After one week of dating, we were talking about marriage, not babies though. Then after two years together we got married, after two years of marriage - Jake, then B2. Tada!

Hubby and I meet while at work, I was a manager at toyworld and he was mall security. He use to come into our shop all the time. We talked a couple of times and I made sure he knew I had a 1 year old, he didn't run for the door so we went to a friends house for our first date and I wasn't sure if I liked him or not after that. The next day I was at work really sick and he waited for three hours while I found a replacement and then took me home he won me over. After that he stayed and pretty much moved in. it was Jan 10 1999. As for his proposal we were in Levin visiting his family and went to a mall in palmy, he made me wait in the car and came out half and hour later with a ring box. He handed it to me and said those ever loving words "you know what it means". Who ever said romance was dead. Actually thinkg about it he's lucky I said yes

Hey Roksana how was your move? Was just reading a little bit of another thread about the probs with your MIL - hope that moving into a place of your own helps .
I have decided we not shifting again! It was so much work, but we all unpacked now. Think I definitely overdid it, am really sore now but I dont go back to work til Tues so have got a couple of days to chill out. It feels so good to look around and know that this is all ours and we can do what we like here.

Well....We ended up not moving....there is soooo much to do still and we had no help last week. We also decided to paint and I want every thing cleaned before we move in. This week will be a full on week for us. Friends are helping us paint and clean...so hopefully next weekend we will be in our own home.
Mind you I have done allot of packing and shopping (As we are setting up every thing from scratch). Our new leather sofa was delivered last weekend, fridge next weekend.....ahhhhhhh so much to do still...I feel like humpty dumpty....I am so slow in doing every thing these days. I am glad your move went well...but I am taking it easy.
I just hope it is all over soon....and all I have to do is set up house.
And things have eased a bit with MIL last weekend...so hope that I dont have to kill any one in the next week.

So did anyone get a romantic proposal like the ones you read about in the magazines!! To tell you the truth if Daniel had of done the whole down on one knee thing I think it would have been really funny - not really his style. I recently heard about a guy who proposed during halftime at a basketball game and she was really embarassed and only said yes cos the whole stadium was watching, but turned him down the next day!

I did - i hadn't been to see snow all my life - so he took me to Mount Ruapahu we went up the mountain in the chair lifts - we got to the top and started to climb the snow - didn't get far due to my bung knee - he then asked me if i would like a chocolate bar - it was a kinder surprise - when i started to open it - he started to go down on one knee i opened the little surprise inside and there was a note asking me to marry him with a beautiful ring which he had made. He had apparently spent several hours setting it all up - it was the most beautiful moment in my life. I just love this man to death.

The kinder surprises already had a line around it separatling the two halves - he opended it up very carefully - he told me later it took him a few attempts to break it open without crushing it - then he placed the items inside and used a warm knife to reseal it.

LOL Willie thinks romantic is a quickie before work
The story of how he proposed is in another thread here somewhere, everything was really full on at the time, I guess it was romantic because he cried, but the actual proposal went something along the lines of "Don't leave me, I was going to ask you to marry me in May" (this was January). Well sucker Emma said yes, and I picked my own ring, although he did propose properly in the car with the ring (after we wrestled it off Maya, who to this day thinks she gave the ring to Mama)
