Stupidly I agreed with Lewis not to find out the sex of the baby....now this is killing me!!!!!! So have decided to resort to more unorthodox methods. However, due to my mind-boggling original predictin skills with jake, will try other people's ideas. So far have tried predicting with the Chinese Lunar chart (girl), dangling a pendant over my belly (kind went back and forth in a circular manner..hermaphrodite), was going to mix urine with bleach until I read that it can cause dangrous fumes and explosions. Any other old wives tales for me to try?????

I used one of my rings hung from a piece of my hair and it actually did predict what sex my kids were. As a joke we did it to my mum when I was pregnant with abby and it got all five of us right to. If you have any other children it will pick them up first. backwards and forward means a boy around in circles means a girl. You can either hold it over your tummy or stretch your thumb and index finger into an L and do it over the skin part of your hand by there.

lol... i only carried out front with both my girls.
there's other things like what sorts of foods you are craving.... salty savoury things means boy, sweet sickly junky food stuff is girl... sorta works.. both times i was crazy for biscuits and ice-cream and went completely off chips etc.

According to my scan I am having a girl......is that consistent with the theory?

LOL Everyone has a theory! Random people - like shop assistants - have started predicting what I'm having! General consensus so far is that its a girl, tho I have had a feeling from the start its a boy - but who knows! I have been told its a girl cos I'm all out the front and that its a boy cos I'm all out the front!! Might try the ring and hair thing and see what that says...

Very weird... did the ring thing and held it over my belly. Well it just hung there doing nothing for a bit then it started doing big swings back and forth!! A boy apparently. I guess we'll find out in a few weeks if its right

Lizzle, silly! You know how terrible you are with suspense!!! Other people's pregnancies are bad enough, now having to wait another four months to find out about your own! What were you thinking? haha
And don't buy into the old wives tales I would have been having a boy had I listened to anyone. Actually did listen to everyone. Very suprised at having a girl. I'm an idiot.

well, i figured if I coped with not knowing for nine months with Jake I could do it again. Now I wish I was like those cows at massey with the windows in their stomach (seriously, the have some plexiglass thing in for vet students), so i could have a wee peek. I'm thinking of studying sonargram things so I can tell from the ultrasound next time.

Ive just had a girl after four boys and really didnt notice anything different with the pregancies ....... except with my girl i noticed that my hair really slowed down in growth! I could go much longer between shaving my legs, plucking eyebrows etc (and slower hair growth is one of the old wives tales for girls) Also i hardly gained any weight with her (3.5kgs) and with the boys i gained anywhere from 14 - 24 kgs!

Hey ladies...Just found two sites that help you predict the sex of your baby....I did them both....1st one said I have 59% chance of having a girl...while the other said 63% of having a girl....hmmm

Okay first one says 73% girl.
second is 86% chance a girl.
we'll see...secretly I'm hoping for a girl. But I was hoping for a girl with Jake too, as once he arrived I was besotted and couldn't imagine having anything else. Course as my friend pointed out "what if our daughters are like us when they are tennagers", and then my mother laughed and laughed and laughed.....maybe I should rethink the whole girl thing....

hahahahahahah that's hilarious.
My theory is that if I'm a batty mother then our lives will turn out something akin to the 'Gilmore Girls' and Hannah will be the wise and sensible one.
But yeah, if Hannah did half the stuff I did I wouldn't be too impressed! Atleast if she goes through a stage of experimenting with drugs I'll have some friends who can take her partying and remain relatively safe! (Yeah, it's a stretch but there is a positive in anything!) hehehe

Hi withthe whole sex thing, I want to know but the baby still dosnt want to share... With the hair and ring thing we do it over wrists, so far it has beenright for my nana, my mum and 3 of my sisters and my brothers wife... it said id have a boy then a 2 girls and a boy again, does this include m/c im not sure.. this will be the last baby and i really feel as if its a girl this so well just have to wait and see i suppose, but its not fun..

I know it is fun to predict gender and also hoping for a perticular gender baby...but Now that I am pregnant (and had a few scares), all I want more than anything is to have a healthy baby.

heheheheheh Ab Fab
Yeah, I'd have to say that is probably a likely scenario. I'll be trying to reclaim my youth while Hannah is going through the 'grown up' stage in her teen years.
I'm sure I won't mind if she's geeky... I'm going to be ultra protective. Instead of the girl's father toting the shotgun it'll be me, standing outside with my weapon waiting to meet the guy taking my baby out (for an expensive date at his cost of course!)

we were talking about that the other day and i said to mike i reckon that since he's not too imtimidating (even though he has a temper you DON'T wanna mess with) i reckon he'll be the dad out there going "hey men, what kinda subs you have? are those alloys? lol, who'd you get to instal it?" trying to reclaim his wasted youth... he was just about to do up his car when i got preggers... had brought the nice big stereo system and everything.. just never got to install it.
he'll be the one who's their friend till they mess up.

lol.... i pride "relations" (still PMSL at that term..) on miss Ayja being born when she was. I'd felt edgy the whole day before i had her. Mike annoyed me late that night. I woke up 2 hours later to the first twinges of labour. Mike took great pride in telling everyone exactly what we had done and how he thought that was what started labour off. lolol. maybe it helped it but i don't think it would have been THAT effective! I think being edgy the whole day beforehand probably means things were gonna start anyway... and i was reallllly not wanting to have baby on mum's birthday on the 26th, so subconsciously i might have been hoping it would start things off too!
