There's talk about combining so let's get a date organised. I think we're up for a Monday? How about the second Monday of August? 10.30? Same place (McD's)?

the train is also quite cheap - and a neat ride depending on the age of the kiddies - and we could organise someone to pick up and drop off i';m sure....but it does mean staying most of the day - but hopefully i will be moved in and you can all help me unpack - sounds good to me!

Yay Leish and Kels for coming up. Remember to stop of in Otaki . I have looked at the calendar and have the second Monday in August as the 13th is that right??

Its a shame our Wholley Bagel won't be opened by then.

13th suit everyone?
I'm wondering what time to do this since the Wellingtonites have a way to travel. Maybe we should do an early lunch? If we were to be at McD's at 11 or 11.30 we'll miss the rush... open to many ideas LOL!

We did Tues in June (Queens Birthday), Mon in July, so August is actually supposed to be a Tuesday! Would it muck up plans too much to change to the 7th or 14th? If you wanna be there, get your thoughts posted!

I'm sure thats Janine talking there.

I'm easy with the 7th or the 14th, but maybe our welly ladies can give us the date they would prefer (i'm being nice they did this for me) and then we can work around it.

Yep it opens in September, a woman at the coffee group I go to (and Laura and Andie) is the co owner of it.

The more the merrier I say. It would take you Ann a bit longer. It takes me 1 1/2 - 2 hours to drive to Wellington but 2 1/2 -3 hours to drive to NP (but if I remember rightly your not in NP???) so a bit less for you if your not there.

I would say 2 hours then. We went to Hawera last year and it took us 1 1/2 hours (we were in a very little car and full with 4 adults (including 1 pregnant) and luggage for the weekend) so we weren't going that fast if that helps.

ha ha, ayja still is teeny!.. although i finally passed on a couple of sets of clothes to Teresa today that she'd grown out of.. size 0.. pants of one set fitted good but top's sleeves were too short, the rest fitted well apart from sleeves too short as well. lol.

Nah.. she is growing a little bit.

Anyway i can say the same for Taine.. last time i saw him was when we had that meet up at the same place when Taine was 6 wks old and Nikki came thru from Welly.

Just trying to work out a way to get up there at the moment, might try convince DF to poss take the day off, or does the train go there? I could always train over.

So where is the McD's? I never been to palmy before so I will prob get totally lost.

Monique, it's on Rangitikei St which is one of Palmy's main streets, not too difficult to find except when travelling from the South you have to go around the Square, a bit confusing but a map will see you straight.

Sorry don't know about trains.

I'm not actuallyt counting as eastern as we are moving to Palmerston on the 28th, so I hope no one was thinking that I loved you all enough to brave a 7 hour car ride to see everyone (usually 5 hours but we have several stops)

Leish I still have your number so we can arrange something between us so you you Welly girls get here in one peice and get drections of were to come. State Highway 1 is probably the easiest way for you to come then you won't get that lost.

I may come, but it's totally dependant on if I have to work or not that day! How long does it take to get to Palmy from Wgtn? Never driven it by myself so that might be scary! I guess we could convoy though, Welly girls??

ETA: Ok I just read back a bit... Yay for the 14th! My final day of work is the 12th, so I'd be able to make it I'll just say I'm unavailable for my new job on that day hehe!

And becks, I saw you wrote that it takes 1.5-2 hrs to drive to Welly? That's cool... Anything much longer than that, I probably wouldn't be able to handle by myself!

mmm lollipops is a bit expensive especially since most of us (well, not me but others) have got bubs that are really too little to play much, plus for the older ones.. it has gone downhill alot really, we went a few weekends back and it's not very well kept anymore at all.

mcdonalds on the square might be good and we can keep an eye out for thos who need a lift with the buggies up the stairs and still has places to play. the thing with most cafes etc is, that even if they are "child-friendly" they don't have a big place to play etc like mc'ds does..

I'm sure we can manage getting prams up the stairs at McD's in the square, there will be enough of us to help whoever needs it.

Yep there'll be plenty of help but McDs on the Square DO actually have a lift - up/near their fire escape stairwell. You have to get one of them to open it up (and the alarm goes off lol) ... so if you arrive and can't see anyone you know, just ask them at the counter.

Debs - sorry couldn't take you as well - I was only joking about the ppl mover - you haven't had your 'loadofkids' yet As it is Carmel is coming with me so can't give you a ride. anyhow you still would of had to find a way to Stratie (can you tell i feel guilty not being able to take you as well?)
We are actually in palmy this weekend...
