I haven't really worried too much about enrolling Maya in school since she's only 2 1/2, I just always assumed she would go to the local Catholic school (we're Catholic). Well a friend told me that I should enrol her now as they have a long waiting list, so I rang them, and their roll is full until 2009! Apparantly people these days enrol their kids as soon as they are born!

Have you thought about where your kid/s are going to go to school? Enrolled them yet? Am I just slow?

I never thought about schools but our local Catholic school also has a long waiting lists - a lot of kids from our playcentre are going to go there.
We never thought about schools until Angie started reading properly (a 6yr old level at just before 3) and then it became more important to find a good school that would extend her and keep her interested in learning. We are lucky in that our local school is very good at catering for gifted kids so fingers crossed it will all be fine.

2009??? Far out! Which school was that? We'll be sending our baby to a Catholic school too, were thinking of Monte Cecelia in Hillsborough. Wonder if they accept fetal enrolments...

Marist Primary in Mt Albert. I have provisonally enrolled her, but they won't guarantee her a place. St Mary's in Avondale will but they don't have such a good reputation.
And we're Catholic, I hate to think what the scramble must be like for the small percentage of non-Catholic places they have to offer!

Goodness. You could try Monte Cecelia. It's a very good school, a friend of mine has a son who goes there. They have a website as well.

Monte does have a great reputation, but it is a little bit further away from us. Worst comes to worst Maya will go to St Mary's in Avondale. It's not a bad school, it's just not as good as Marist.
