Well here I am..Still very early days yet. Brae was referred to a behaviour/ anxiety specialist last week & has an evaluation for the week coming
Not sure what to call this but HSC(highly sensitive child) is the best thing that comes to mind atm
Ive always known that he is sensitive & has social anxiety issues but to finally have someone listen & do something about it, rather than fob me off is great!
Very overwhelmed with lots of dif emotions atm having my child assessed & labeled or whatever. I know it will be the best thing for us & will help us to deal with his issues as they arise coz I certainly don't want them hindering his learning /attitude for later in life.

Are there any parents of HSC or who have been diagnosed with behaviour & aniexty issues on here? What am I in for? Help/ Support appreciated

Thanks heaps Lu Def a good thing to have a name & help for Brae's condition

I have to say the hardest part of being his Mum, is the feeling that I have done this to him
The feeling I get when he resists entering Doctors, Dentists, preschool etc or even going outside by himself, the looks people give me when he is throwing an all mighty tantrum, kicking & banging his head against the wall! Sometimes it makes me so mad, sometimes embarrassed, sad, hurt, sometimes I feel like throwing a tantrum myself.
One time I went out for Dinner with DP, the MIL & BIL looked after the boys. Unlike other kids Brae continued to howl, scream & cry for hours after- throwing, kicking, banging, climbing up the walls like he was possessed. Which really freaked them out
I hate the comments I get that it is normal for some kids to be shy & go through phases. He will grow out of it.
Well if its normal, why arent other kids his age(4.5yrs) behaving in that manner? It is now seriously interfering with & hindering our everyday lives
