Next month we are starting doing HIPPY (Home Interaction Progamme for Parents and Youngsters).
Anyone else done or doing it? How do u find it? What sort of activities do u do? Do you have specific time each day set aside to do it? What are the group meetings like? Do most people take their kids along to the group meetings? Isla is in daycare when the group meetings are on so she wont be able to come.
TIA
Its a 80% government funded programme run in 26 areas of nz for kids age 31/2- 5 1/2yrs. You are visited by a tutor for an hr a fortnight to be shown the material for the following week that you work on with your child, and you attend a group meeting the alternate week with other parents and the tutor where u go over the material as a group.
You spend 15-20 mins a day doing the activities with your child. It costs $20 a term and u get all the books and everything u need to do the activities- scissors, pens , glue etc.
