The U.S has banned drop sided cots, link is below. I think it is a good idea, but not cool for us short people! They are advocating using cots with solid sides instead.
Yeah I saw that yesterday and youngest is still in a dropside, is a bit concerning especially as he uses it as an indoor trampoline.
I do however think, and could have this wrong, that US standards are not as good as the AUS/NZ ones and it mentioned in the article I read that some of the ones recalled were from KMART and other cheaper stores which makes me think maybe they were of poor quality to start with?
we have a touchwood cot which has the groove all the way down the sides and you also need 2 hands to release it.
when we were first looking at cots all the ones (brand new) in our price range has the plastic side bits which we didnt like the look of as it looked too easy for them to come off
We have one with a metal rail, I just wonder about the safety of those cots that have the drop side merely embedded into the other 2 sides, if you didn't do it up tight enough I can certainly see it doing something like that.
Kiara is 3 and Teagan is 2, now we're expecting our long awaited 3rd!
