Topic: Anyone in Wellington or Kapiti? Posted: 06 October 2014 at 10:14am |
Hey everyone. I'm due on 18th April 2015 and am currently 12 weeks and 2 days pregnant. I was hoping I would be feeling better by now but the old nausea doesn't seem to be going anywhere anytime soon. I'm starting to get a bit down feeling so rubbish everyday. Anyone got any tips that don't involve ginger?!
Also am keen to hear from people who live near me - anyone from Wellington or Kapiti coast and keen to catch up?
Charlotte.

Hi! We're in the Hutt Valley as well - I have a 13 month old daughter :) I couldn't stomach anything with ginger in it, plain crackers (or toast) and Juicies were my life savers until the nausea passed!

My nausea/vomiting never passed! I loved slushies (frozen drinks) and small packets of plain chips! And i ate every hour (don't worry only gained 900g!)

Hi there,
Congrats on your pregnancies! Exiting times!
My husband and I live in Tawa... noticed a couple of people on here in close proximity. We are due July 2015. Although I might be a bit more further along than 5-6 weeks?
Perhaps we could arrange coffee groups or something as we are all on our journeys... Am not nauseous although can be queasy if I haven't eaten for a while, once I have eaten something it goes away! I get very hot at night in the tummy/breast areas... very odd this radiating heat! Just happens at night. A lot of excessive bloating too.
Are you all choosing local midwives or going private obstetrician?
Cheers, Lisa

Hi All
Lovely to see so many of you are local. Yay. I live in Papakowhai, also due July 2015 and am 8 weeks today.
Congrats to you all on your pregnancies. I still have the bloating and feel hot too, not fun. Going with a midwife, first baby in NZ, so not sure what to expect, so going with the flow.
Would love to arrange a coffee meet up. Would be fantastic:-)
Cheers Kelly

Hi Kelly,
I live in Tawa so not far away from you at all.
When would you like to meet up for a chit chat and a cuppa?
This is our first baby too... some days I don't feel pregnant at all... other moments I feel it. Very odd. I am about 5-6 weeks but I think I am bit further along due to my symptoms that come on at 8-9 weeks. Although I guess everyone is different.
I am on facebook if you want to find me and can contact that way -
Lisa Brown (nee Malanchak)
Cheers, Lisa
