Hi everyone :) I concieved my gorgeous girl (22months old) with the help of clomid, we TTC'd for 6 months this year for number 2, including 3 clomid rounds with no luck, so are just having a wee break for a while, until maybe may next year and we'll hopefully get pregnant using the last of my clomid from this time (i have 2 rounds left) I was talking to my GP the other day when i was at the docs for something else, as i have just moved to auckland, and mentioned we were wanting to be TTC next year and what is the story with who you see for fertility treatment etc in auckland ( in the town i lived in you just went directly to the OBGYN at the hospital as she was the only one in the town and shed sort things from there..) and my GP sais something about it being my 2nd child, so if we already have had one successful pregnancy, regardless of the fact we needed fert. drugs to concieve, we might not be elligable for public funding? does this sound right to you? if it is ill just pay to go private through my old OBGYN in the south island.. but it sounds pretty off to me! so any advice would be great, and good luck everyone! x

Hi Soda. That doesn't sound right to me - previous children lowers your score, but depending on your issues, it may just be a matter of time, so you might have to be trying for five years before you'd be eligible. I would assume though, that eventually you would qualify.
I've just had a low AMH test back, so if clomid doesn't work for us, then I doubt we will be waiting at least three years for public treatment (although we wouldn't be able to pay for IVF, we would at least privately fund IUI).

So, my first day 21 progesterone blood test on clomid was yesterday and just got the result - 23. The nurse said that this meant I'd ovulated, but that it is low and they would be hoping for 30-40 given I was taking clomid. She will take the results to the Dr but she said she thought he'd probably recommend that we doubled my dose (I'm currently on one tablet - 100mg I think?). I should hear back from them before Friday to see what they'd like to do, and to arrange a new script if necessary. I'm disappointed the results aren't better, but at least I ovulated, and around the right time, which gives us a better shot this month than we have in any other given month. If I don't get a BFP this month, I actually think my DH will be pretty stoked that we get to try again next month

It's very quiet in here - how are things going Ceres? As for me, had a call from FA yesterday, and yes, they are doubling my dose to 100mg. Ceres, what dose did you go up to? I'm assuming the headaches and moodiness will be more of a problem next cycle

Hi Ariel, sorry to hear that . Fingers crossed for this next cycle with the increased dose x. I went up to 150mg in the end, but I didn't ovulate at all on the lower doses. Bear in mind that clomid can decrease your lining too, so something to bear in mind (doing a few clomid cycles at higher doses is probably fine, but I wouldn't be keen on doing it for 6 months on end without scans to check your lining is okay for implantation). Just make sure you continue to take the tablets before bed and you should sleep through most of the side effects . AFM, we were finally able to do a transfer after more than 3 months of jabs early November and got our BFP. But it's been a massive roller-coaster since, with a threatened miscarriage and probable loss of a twin. I'm still on tenterhooks, and not out of the woods yet, my progesterone is far too low, despite all the supplements - so I need it to go up up up. But my hcg is doing exactly what it should be. So we're just trying to take one day at a time and hanging out for the 7 week scan.

OMG, that is amazing news Ceres - yay! I'm sorry that about all the stresses that have happened but I have my fingers crossed that your HCG continues to rise. Make sure you update here after the scan I think that at the most we'll do three cycles at the higher dose without further monitoring (my prescription has two repeats left). When we saw the FA Dr he said he would see us again in the new year if things weren't progressing. So with all the graduates I guess that means I'm alone in here for now, hopefully that means it will be mine turn soon.

Soda yep you will loose "points" for already having one child but if you needed help having number 1 then you will "gain" some points.
I see you're in Blenheim so you would go to Fertility Associates in Christchurch and they are only around a 12 month wait for public funding.
Congratulations Ceres! That's awesome!

I think u do lose some points if you have no 1 already but it's not many like 5 when you get 40 for being under 35. We had enough points after two years of trying, no prob with no 1 and mild endo other than that we are unexplained

Anyone else joining me in here? I'm still going - in the 2ww of my fourth clomid cycle - hoping this one does the trick!
Ceres, I still think of you. I can't stalk you on FB anymore, so hope things are progressing well.

Oh my goodness, I'm so sorry girls, just realised I never updated this page. As per ticker almost 18 weeks along, baby looks to be absolutely healthy and is currently kicking me as I type <3.
