I have heard so many different opinions about when to start TTC after m/c... I have decided that now I have had AF (a month after my initial bleeding started, - I had D&C/ERPOC after 4 days of bleeding) we will start trying again. My GP and OB both told me there is no medical reason apart from having a date to know exact conception and EDD... although a friend of mine at work told me she conceived straight away after her m/c and her next baby was born with only 1/2 a placenta - freaky!

All I want is a healthy baby... so much.... please!

Go for it, Emachan! I had one AF after m/c and then our beautiful Krystiana was conceived on my next cycle. I don't think the 1/2 placenta would have been because of your friend's previous m/c.

I conceived first cycle post m/c (as in had one AF, then got pregnant) and I ended up with fat, healthy gremlins

The only advice I can offer is to make sure that your head is ready for it tho. Pregnancy after miscarriage is an absolute rollercoaster, so it's good to get your head in a good place so you are strong enough to get thru it without going totally nuts!

I can totally recommend Life after Baby Loss by Nicola Miller-Clendon, we sell it in the OHbaby! online store, but I also have a review copy of it which I've lent to someone but am happy to pass on to you when she's done. It has some great, practical advice on the whole TTC and subsequent pregnancy process, and I wish I'd read it before I had the gremlins, it might have saved a lot of angst.

I am being sooo cautious, well, i thought i was, however, 1st period post M/c finished a week ago and here i find last night mike was happy to BD without any thought of using anything, so hhm, is that a yes we will try.. as he suggested it. i dunno, am seriously freaked out though, after seeing a few interesting things lately at work i just am getting stupidly scared at how many bad things happen. i know mostly that these people have had lots of troubles with previous pregs though. anyways, we'll see.

And, me, i am the one who has the book Emma lent. Anyways, am seriously going to return it to you Emma but thinking of buying my own copy as it is wonderful and covers so very much. It has not only helped me in my own experience but helped me reflect alittle on the process parents go though in my line of work working with sick bubs and ones that sometimes die.    Will get that back to you.
