Topic: Unless youre a gamer, you wont get it Posted: 18 May 2008 at 10:07am |
But i'm gonna have a wee whine regardless.
So both Matt and I play this game called World of Warcraft. Its great and we have a lot of fun bla bla bla. I quit a few weeks ago so I could make the most of spending my weekends with him instead of at the computer with him, if you get what I mean.
So I get up this morning, and i'm not feeling the best (lack of sleep, ear infection bla bla bla moan moan moan) and he gets up saying oh I'm gonna be late for the raid (now, a raid is where you get a whole bunch of people playing the game together to kill monsters etc) and I was like WTF its our LAST weekend where it's just gonna be me and you, and you wanna sit at the computer and play your stupid game. Now he's all sad and mopey and said 'oh but i wont be able to play after the baby comes' which is complete bollox cuz i'm not an ass and I like him to have hobbies. Honestly. Fricken ass. I am SO annoyed.

I used to play WOW when i was with Briahnas dad (he got me into it)
That game is evil. You get SO addicted and it caused nearly every fight me and my ex would have. He would play it ALL the time and i would get so mad. He never spent time with me and he just wouldnt stop playing.
I swear he cared more about that stupid game than he did about me!
He was the same with his raids and i would say, "can you just not play it today? You sit on that game for hours especially when your doing the raids". He didnt give a crap though and played it anyway. Only the odd time he would get off or just not play it.
I can say i know how you feel. Although its probably not as extreme lol cause your not with an asshole.

Yeah its a really fun game I had a level 50 something night elf hunter before my ex and i broke up. Man do i miss her i was SO close to 60! Then the add on bit came out and 60 was nothing compared to 70 lol. Still i was proud!
BUT my experience with it and with relationships turned out very bad so i got put off.

O.M.G.
Seriously.
That game is the BAIN of my existence.
DH plays. Every Sunday. He organises his guild for Sunday raids. So he spends ALL week strategising and doing sign ups and all the other crap that goes with it.
Luckily, during the week, he's on it after I've gone to bed/while I'm feeling Hannah at 5pm.
But I don't see him from 10am until at least 5pm on Sundays.
I understand the "addiction". And I'm fairly understanding. But since Hannah's come along I get really upset that he'd rather do that on a Sunday than spend time with his little girl (and wife!!).
If I want him to spend Sunday with us, I have to give him at least 7 days notice so he can organise someone to play in his place.
He has 2 level 70 characters, so it takes a lot of his time.
I wonder if your DH and my DH are in the same guild?
So on Sunday am a WOW Widow.
I'm sorry you miss it though, but I think you're wise to stop. Babies take up ALL your time, especially if DH is still playing. I hope he gives you some time on Sundays when babuy comes.

Aw that sucks that you guys are having issues - definitely a lot harder to deal with having WoW in the relationship when one of you doesn't play.
Dh and I have played together for years and we try and always play at the same times so as not to cause any hassles - so far so good! Other than the times I have given up raiding and he has carried on, it's easy to get snotty when you're the one who always has to get up in the morning for the kids cause DH is tired from being up so late or something.
I hope you guys can come to some kind of agreement about where wow is going to fit into your relationship, and that you can both make compromises. And hey if he DOES end up giving up wow after bubs arrives that would be awesome too!

Good grief! I posted that thinking no-one would have any idea what I was talking about :P
Charly I'd be happy if he only played it one day a week :P I actually cant wait to get back into it - i forced myself to have a break for a few months before the expansion comes out (you'll not see him all week once that comes out :P)
We came to a comprimise - he's gonna play after dinner instead of during the day today, which is awesome cuz we've been baking *drool*

Mike and I both play Guildwars, never managed to get into WoW, just isn't as good a game in my opinion, that and it costs more (takes cover under the nearest rock)
Also everyone I know who has played WoW, has pretty much been completely sucked in...
ETA: But I play more than him

Me and DH were like this with Diablo 2 many years ago.
We downloaded the trial version of WoW before Christmas, and loved it, but decided it was better for the babies if we didn't buy the game

not a gamer but my husband is, he plays EVE online has also play Dark Age of Camelot.
He closed his account around the time Megan was born and has closed it a couple of times since she has been born.
Never had a problem with him playing and he always makes time for Megan.
he jokes about getting Megan her own EVE online account..lol

LOL, we are both gamers too. But not the online games so we don't need to play at specific times
I get pissy sometimes with it at the weekend too, but I'm lucky that DH keeps it in moderation

I know a lot of people who spend their time playing games. But I myself do not welcome such a hobby. The only acceptable option for me is slots - https://play-casino.live/ This type of games not only entertains, but also gives you the opportunity to earn real money. This is exactly what I want. Why didn't you try my version?
