Hi everyone,

This is a post for those of us who know there is a problem, but are still waiting to see the specialist for the first time.

I know from my experience to date that there can be a lot of uncertainty about what will happen there and if they will fix the problems, not to mention the big questions about "will I conceive and carry to term at all?" and "what will they find wrong with me or my partner?

Hi Minty,

Guess I fit in here. After 2.5yrs of ttc FINALLY got the man testing done and it was pretty terrible (Azoo) so now waiting to see a urologist.
Our journey's are probably a little different but I doubt the anxiety of seeing a specialist is.

Up until now I've been over in the ttc forums but decided its probably time to change.

Wishing you all the best :)

Hey Babycrazy - I think I remember you from the ttc forum!

What does Azoo mean, and what is the next step for you guys one you've seen the urologist?

We still haven't got an appointment, but hopefully not too long to go :)

Yeah thought I recognised your name from there too. Azoospermia is the term given when no sperm is present in the sample. When we see the urologist he will try and determine the cause and see if it can be fixed (sometimes its a blockage which means they can't get through) and hopefully if there is actually any being made full stop. Once we've been through that process depending on the outcome it could mean IVF via donor or IVF using what sperm they could find.

We still haven't got our appt either but I'm hoping it won't be long.

What kind of specialist are you guys waiting to see? Looking at your signiture I can tell you haven't had an easy time...I hope they can help you!
