Ok, you know what is weird with that....it's where you pick him up.
What washing powder are you using, do you use hand cream?
But other than that it looks like the rash Cooper is getting on his face. Kinda blistery like. Can you do a close up please.

Hmm yeah it is. That is where the worst of it seems to be now you mention it.
I wash his clothing in Persil Sensitive (have done since day dot), his nappies in Eco store and our clothes in whatever is on special.
I don't use any handcream (which my lovely dry hands will tell you)
There are two different rashes it looks like. One is little dots all over and then there are larger circles that are dry and a little scaly looking
He has just woken up so will see if I can get another pic.

Ok, my totally unqualified opinion LOL is that the round bits are eczema. The other bits is an allergy rash.
What do you put against his skin? I would be almost inclined to wash what ever goes against his skin in just water. Or maybe in eco store. To rule out contact allergy, but in saying that the persil sensitive is ok according to my Failsafe shopping list. Unless what you are washing your clothes in is leaving a residue in your machine.
That blistery look is what my Cooper gets on his face, the other place he gets it is on his thighs. I've found it's definitely due to wheat.

I know eczema is from allergies so that sounds kinda dumb but do you get what I mean though

I've just looked into this thread for no other reason than I'm bored but its got me wondering something..
Not meaning to offend at all here or start a fight just a curiousity..
Daniel was BF and DH did the last feed of the day. He had excema, weirdo rashes sometimes and silent reflux. At nearly 3 months I got sick of pumping for that feed so just used formula instead. I noticed immediately that his reflux wouldn't bother him after that feed, he would sleep brilliantly because of that. Cause of that trend I ended up trying a different daytime feed of formula as well to see if it was just a fluke it happened in the evening or if it were the formula vs my milk causing his issues.. and again no reflux issues after that feed . It became kinda obvious to me that it was something in my milk causing his issues. I stopped feeding (which I was secretly happy about cause I hated it even though I was a good cow) and we went full time formula, we were able to stop all meds. Excema disappeared, no weird rashs or any of that crap. He hasn't reacted to anything since, so has no allergies or intolerances or anything.
I just wondered (cause I noticed all u guys are BF I think) if you had ever considered trying something like that? I'm not pro FF and anti BF. I am pro BF but I just hate it myself for massive boobs, back probs, self conscious reasons.

Thanks Kel, I do get what you mean. I will try washing all our clothes in eco store for a while and perhaps do an extra rinse cycle and see if that makes a difference.
My thoughts were an allergy thing with the pimply looking rash too. And also look into eliminating wheat.
Stacey - thanks for the suggestion. BF is really important to me, I'll keep on trucking and see if I can sort it all with my diet etc first if I can.

Totally know what you mean Stacey. I have been on a strict elimination diet since he was about 6 weeks old. I think the reason we don't have that many problems is because of this. I am in the process of trying to get Neocate cause I'm ready to wean now. My milk isn't that fatty so I need for his sake to look elsewhere. Way back in Jan it was just to give me a break every now & then, now it's seriously thinking of giving up. His reflux has been way better since I cut rice & wheat though.

When I was BF Leah would react to so many things I ate. I couldn't have sugar unless it was one in a cup of tea, but then the tea had to be decafe cause any caffeine would really upset her, which meant no chocolate. She also has really bad reflux, but have that under control now.
I get excema and it comes in large circles and also spots just like the picture shown. Poor wee thing, its not fun at all.

have you tried a probiotic? I started giving Cian a sachet of Blackmores "daycare defence" probiotic in his milk at night and his eczema (on his face) cleared up completely in about a week. 2 days off it this weekend, and it's coming back again...
good point about caffeine being in chocolate - i'd totally forgotten that!! gutted
oh btw -- for those of you who are dairy-free chocolate fiends - did you know there's no dairy products in Oreo cookies??? my new favourite weakness lol
