A 45-year-old Polish mom is recovering after giving birth to
Poland's largest ever baby weighing in at a staggering 7.1 kilos.
THIS baby boy named Kacper, who
arrived by Caesarean section in a
surgery that took just 1S minutes, is
the size of a seven-month-old. He's
now the most famous baby in Poland, not
just because of his size and the fact that
in length he is 66cm (half the length of his
mother), but because his mom is 45 and
conceived him naturally.
"I never thought the baby would be so big. I
knew he would be quite big but Kacper surprised
everyone. I am so happy," says mom Bo-ena
Skulska.
Baby Kacper was so huge he stunned the
medical staff and they didn't even have a birth
scale to weigh him on when he was born at the
military hospital in Szczecin.
"We thought the baby would be around 5.5
kilos but when he came out, it was a big shock
for everyone. The scale didn't work because it
only goes up to 6.5 kilos," says one of the nurses
who helped in the birth.
"He is completely healthy. We have done all the
exams. He is a normal boy ... just a little bigger
than others," says child nurse Janina Szmuta.
As for his father, 44-year-old Marek - he is very pleased to have a
healthy baby and is impressed by his size.
"It's my second son. What a big man," said the
proud dad.
The family live in North Poland but fame has
not gone to their heads. They are just happy to
have such a wonderful baby. And although the
child has been visited by many family and friends
and the media - he has slept through most of
the attention .
Bo-ena, the mother says
all her children have
been quite big. "Monika
was four kilos, patryk
was also four kilos and
Izabella was 5.5 kilos,
with Kacper breaking
the bank at 7.13 kilos."
She says her pregnancy
was normal, despite
her age, and no she
didn't eat anything
special to create
this 'giant junior'.
However, the giant
baby is feeding
extremely well and his
parents say growing
before their eyes and
demanding many
feeds a day.

That was Krystiana's size at almost 3mos and SHE's big I totally agree Fleur, would have been awful if he'd got stuck or whatever. And the mum is so little by the sound of things (well she's probably pretty round at the moment, but she's short). You bet he's feeding a lot!
