Wow Amby 36weeks already!! And wow measuring 6 weeks ahead eeekkk.....

So have you got anytips on excema? Coz Cody has it real bad, it comes I put a day or two of cream from the dr and it goes and I keep up with fatty cream then a couple of days later its back!! Im going back to the dr on Tuesday and I know he is going to say to put him on soy milk or something non dairy. Was it hard for Jody to be dairy free?? My poor boy boy he had such beautiful skin and now it looks horrible and so itchy for him!!!

Hi everyone else....

No, it was really easy, she was a bit older, like 12m + when we cut the dairy. She just had soy instead of cow's milk, soy yoghurt, goats milk cheese etc. I guess with Cody still being so young it would be even easier since he won't be eating all sorts of food.
Even the wheat free diet was fine and that was for both of us as we were still breast feeding when we cut the wheat.
It was well worth it too to have her soft baby skin back.
We found that the fatty cream made it worse and didn't bother with steroid creams. I have heard great things about Xmaease but never tried it.
Emu oil from Silberhorn worked wonders for my excema, but I'm not sure if it would help if it was caused by a food intolerance.

I hope Cody gets his nice soft baby skin back soon!

Oh! I think it was someone in here that gave me the idea that Jody's excema was a food intolerance rather than just plain old excema and that was because it would come out in sort of circles here and there all over her rather than being in just a few places IYKWIM

Yea im really hoping going dairy free will help, his excema is on both cheeks, forehead, behind his ears, arms, legs and a wee bit on his tummy oh and a wee bit on his bum!! Poor thing!! Ill see what the dr says on Tuesday and going dairy free and if that stil doesnt work I mite try that Xmaease cream.

Haha, Fi, that's what I'm thinking too, but hoping for a nice little 9lb girl

Good luck at the Dr's tomorrow, Sarah, I hope the excema gets under control soon. I think because it's in lots of random places then it's something that needs to be sorted out internally if that makes sense. Hopefully dairy free will fix it fast.

OK, so when I thought of Jody's name it just came to me one day when I was gazing at her basinette (sp?), it was not a name I would have thought of myself and I kind of think it was meant to be because of how it just kind of 'arrived' in my head.
The exact same thing happened the other morning while gazing at this baby's bed. It's a boy's name and it's kind of already taken by one of you girls, so I hope no one minds if I use it!

hi ladies,

Leah, Cody is formula isnt he? your first step is to change his formula. david has Excema bad & i was stil BFing so i had to cut dairy, tomato based products, pumpkin, salty foods, fizzy drinks & chocolate & Cocoa products. It cleared it up amazingly.

Amby, im thinking boy too. That is so exciting that you are so close. Just think, 36 weeks is pretty much full term.

I hvae to say im a bit jealous of you guys with new babies but i get girly cuddles three days a week as i have a lil girl who lives with me three days a week so her mum can work.

Update on us:
Vincent starts school in four weeks. YIKES!!!!!!!!!!!!
David is so fully ready for Kindy but wont start til term 4
They are both doing not too bad. Things with my ex are very hard at the moment but just living day by day.
David's talking gets clearer daily im sure of it. He still seems to have a little lisp or at least have trouble saying 'sssss'

Not much else to tell here, taken time off work to try & cope as the stress levels with everything has really gotten on top of me.

Its so awesome hearing how everyone else is getting on
Have deleted facebook so you will have to keep me up to date on here now

Hi Chonny nice to hear from you. Can I ask why you cut out pumpkin? And yes ive gone from cows milk formula to soy. How long did you guys take to notice there excema going or gone? Coz we have been on ONLY soy since monday but his excema is stil on his face not as bad but stil there.

Yea Leahs pretty ready to start kindy is well, and always goes on about when shes 3 she gets to go to 3 ups (at playgroup) and she gets to go to kindy Im looking forwar to it too Even tho its only 3 days aweek from 1.30-3.30pm so not long but will be nice to have the break.

Sorry things with your ex arent that great but im sure with time things will get better and good for you taking time off work.

Leah, apparently Pumpkin is one of the highest allergy items but so uncommon for people to know about. We also used a special beta climazole cream that helped as well.

It took a while but we noticed the redness go down after a few days then it kept healing from there.

Chonny I had no idea pumpkin was bad, I think Lachie reacts to banana, but not sure, we get little circle patches of what looks like excema but hardly anything so I haven't cut anything out.

Sorry things are hard with  your ex Chonny, good on you for giving it another go though can't be easy.

All is well here, had a melt down last week, finally happened, Lachie had a week of being a horrible baby and I was just tired out from managing two but he has come right again, think he was a bit ill and I am ok again now, two kids is bloody hard at times, but awesome the rest of it, all my friends are popping them out now, I like to cuddle a newborn and give it back, I am better with toddlers, Lachie is going to be my last baby. and I am not sad about that I love him to pieces but I think thats enough for us.

Right lets take bets on how big Amby's boy is going to be

Very interesting about the pumpkin, good to know! Sorry things have been a bit stressful for you, Chonny, hopefully things will settle down soon. The little girl you look after sounds like a real sweetie! Holy moly, Vincent at school!!!??? That's a bit scary!

Good to hear Cody's excema was not as bad after a couple of days, how is it now? 3 ups sound nice, hopefully I can get Jody in to some sort of kindy when we got home, but I presume there are some long waiting lists.

Glad you are feeling better after a wee melt down, Fiona, us ladies need to hit the bottom sometimes so we can come back up xx

Thanks for the name-stealing permission 38 weeks today and feeling less 'niggly' than I was a few weeks ago.
Things are slowly falling in to place for the move home, yay

Amby when are you moving home?? Codys excema some days good some days really bad, so im not sure its even cows milk but then again his baby may not like the soy. I have heard really comments on Goats milk formula but at $48 a tin everyweek we just cant see us spending that much on formula?? Would you guys?? But my dr has filled out a form for the disabitily (sp?) allowince (sp? haha) from work & imcome for the soy so if it gets approved then I might talk to them about paying for some of the goats formula so we can try out, coz I know my Dr would approve it is well.... esp if soy isnt helping. Well it is helping its def not as bad but yea stil there, how long should it take to have dairy complelety gone from the system?

Amby im stil buzzing out that your already 38weeks!!! Come on little boy feel free to come out now before you get to big or is that already to late

That would be good if you can get it subsidised. How long does a tin of formula last? (like how long does it take for Cody to drink it)

Haha, yeap, I think this one's going to be massive, over 10lb for sure. It feels much bigger than Jody did. I'm quite nervous about giving birth at the hospital where whatever MW is on will deliver baby. I would feel so much better going through my birth plan with her now rather than at the time! Eeeep!

I tried xmaease with Kaitlyn but I don't recall whether it made much of a difference. (I actually just pulled it out of the cupboard yesterday to try it on myself as I've broken out with eczema on my face, doh.) We tried the cream Chontelle had for David and it worked wonders for Kaitlyn, although it made no diff whatsoever for Bethany. Has your dr given you the usual aqueous cream or equivalent to use in the bath & morning/night? That combined with hydrocortisone was our fall-back with both girls. Not that it was failproof by any means! The Aveeno baby moisturising cream was nice too. I was already off dairy and gluten so diet wasn't really an option with either of my girls' eczema.

Bethany has had 40+degree temps since Sunday, been to a&e 3x this week and it's a mystery but we're still struggling to keep it under control. Day and night she's been miserable & hardly known what to do with herself, just doesn't seem fair. Kaitlyn seems fine (bouncing off the walls and loving not being thwarted by her big sis for a change lol!) so we're praying she stays that way! Hoping we might get some sleep tonight as it's been a looooong week.

ETA - pls excuse the rambles, I'd forgotten what it was like to be this sleep deprived!!

Hi everyone, I haven’t posted on here for such a long time! Have only read back over the last couple of pages.

Jo, hope your arm is better now!!

TJ, hope Levi’s sleeping has settled down for you a little now. I was talking to a mum the other day whose baby slept through the night from 9wks, and was gobsmacked. Every baby is different! Aviva woke every hr-2 until she was months and months old. That’s really interesting about the hormone imbalance, though if they are not getting enough hindmilk, it helps explain all the waking.

Am somewhat pleased to see that others are still having trouble TT! I feel like Aviva has been kind-of TT forever, but she still has days where we go through a hundred pairs of pants! Poos are never a problem, but wees can be a bit more hit and miss. She’s started doing the jiggle / trying to hold on, which makes it easier for me to know when to suggest she goes!! I think sometimes she just gets too busy, and doesn’t think wet pants are such a big deal. I caved and tried bribery, but she is just as likely to say no when I offer her a pineapple lump if she would go toilet. The other day I asked her if she didn’t like them any more, and she said yes, just not today!

FIVE Chonny! Five, I can’t believe all these little kids are growing so big! Especially when the photos on the tickers are just the same as they always were, so they don’t look any bigger (not that I have updated mine!). Glad to hear that you are WARM! Take care of yourself.

Not far to go now Amby! Exciting! Are you still in Aussie?

So very sorry to hear about your loss Lydia.

Glad to hear Ash is sleeping well now. I think if anyone has a right to talk about ‘it will pass,’ its you!!

Kristy, yay for Bethany going toilet by herself! Lots of sickness is no fun. Praying that Bethany is better now.

Fiona, great that Finley is all sorted TT wise. Very sneaky of you!

Hi Sarah! How is Codys exzcema now?

As for us…

Aviva is doing wonderfully at the moment, she is such a darling. I just moved her into a big bed yesterday, that was fun (she had a cot that you could turn into a bed before that, but she’d outgrown it). Had been watching for a bed on TM for a while, eventually found a pair that sounded great, but neglected to ask whether they were from a smokefree house… turns out they weren’t, but after much airing out they are not too bad, and everything else that came with the trade is brilliant. We are loving playcentre, I have my Course 3 and am getting paid for some supervision work which is also nice!

DH has only another couple of months of uni before he is finished, and that is very exciting!! Then on to the job hunt, and who knows where we will end up?

More than 2 years ttc and still no baby, but one of the advantages in knowing that there is a God who cares for me and has promised that ALL thing will work together for GOOD, is that I don’t have to worry about it! When the time is right, it will happen. Meanwhile, we keep trying.

Sorry for the novel. Nice to catch up, will try to do so a little more regularly!!

Hey Jess my arm is getting better, I can pretty much move it like normal but it is quite stiff and I still can't look after the disabled lady I look after because its not very strong, but with a little physio it should be fine.

Hope Bethany is doing better Kristy.

Good on you for doing your course 3, I've only just started my course 2!! Hope you guys a blessed with another little one soon.
James TT is exactly the same, though bribery is quite successful, most of the time he will come running up to me and say "mummy, me go wees and get a lolly?" Which is good, but other time I think he's just lazy.

Lewis' first appropriately said word the other day was "digger" which says something about his brothers influence.

Is anyone else stalking the due in August 2011 to see when Amby pops? Hope it comes early for you!!

Yeah people are posting again in here! I miss you guys :p
Jackson has been at kindy quite awhile, since Nov last year? Anyways this term they decided to change the hours so he now goes two days a week from 8.30-2.30 which seemed like a long day but he absolutely loves it!
He is still not toilet trained, we wear pull ups all day and I put him on the potty or toilet regularily, as long as I do he goes on the toilet but if I dont he wont, bit of a pain as I am sure he knows what he is doing he is just a bit lazy, we tried wearing 'big boy' pants but he kept wetting them which drove me up the wall! A little like Aviva he is great with number 2's but not so much with peeing. Guess we will get there in the end
Jess you are so right about God's timing, I honestly thought we would have had Jackson and another baby straight away (like within a few months) but I am so greatful I had the time in between, it is really full on with four kids but especially with Jackson so it has worked out well for us having him at Kindy for a few days as it allows me time to get things done, and occasionally a little rest/quiet time. I know things will work out when the time is right.
I had a stressful few weeks, my milk supply went from over abundant to almost non-existant so I had to breastfeed, double pump with a hospital grade pump and then bottle top up at every feed, all in the school holidays. We also had a lot of stressors with relationship difficulties (DH and I are now going to counseling and things have greatly improved) and financial stressors (we have extended the time on our mortgage to make it a little easier) and my health- I had another MRI the other day, thankfully it was ok, the tumor is still present but they are happy to keep monitoring it, I had a LEEP the other day as I had grade three changes after a colposcopy, ended up on two lots of antibiotics for a supposed infection that had hung around for nearly four months post Levis c-section. A 9 year old birthday party in the middle of it for my DD, so lets just say I am not all that suprised my body said "ENOUGH" and stopped producing enough milk! Levi was waking every two hours and feeding for an hour at a time as he was not getting enough milk, was an absolute nightmare!
He still wakes from 2-4 times a night but he is a lot happier and seems to be putting on weight, all be it sporadically ( one week he gained 330grams the next 40) they continue to watch it and I am continuing to pump for a little longer until his weight is gaining at a steady rate.
Gosh what a novel, anyways you are all filled in on how things are going in our house!
Hope your wee boy arrives soon Amby, pretty exciting stuff! Please let me know when she does as I may not know otherwise! Cheers!
