Actually while I'm thinking about it. I thought with young babies you have to have them on someones knee while flying? I heard somewhere that if you have twins and your flying alone you actually have to pay for a staff member to sit next to you and hold one?

Cat: yes, please let us know how you go. I am going to be brave and fly with the bubs to England for 3 weeks with my hubby when they are 8 months old.. yikes!

Loving the photos Lisa: so cute!!!! Can't wait till next summer when the boys can enjoy the outside a bit more.

Re. childcare I looked at one childcare centre & it worked out to be 47 grand too ('') which would mean I don't earn anything... no point obviously. Will be investigating in-home childcare or see if our finances can allow me 2 years off before going back to work rather than 1... stupid mortgage!

Wow twinboys! England! Great fun My sister lived in London for 14 years and Married a pom as a result they had 2 children and had to fly back and forth from London and CHCH ALOT! They made the trip with their girls from birth to the age of 7 and had no problems I'll be sure to ask her if she had any special tricks for keeping them happy on such a long journey

I'm off to Brisbane for a weekend in the start of Feb luckily for me babies will not me joining their Mother lol! DH will stay home with the girls while I go and drink in the sun (poolside of course) with my girlfriends!!! So can't wait. I managed to score $200 return flights through export gold. If you buy 5 24 packs of their beer you get the flights for $200. It was a great deal for us because we had to buy so much beer so xmas and new year anyway.

Yeh - hubby English so off to visit family!
We're definately going to stop over in USA one way to get the extra baggage allowance & the other I'm not sure yet - hubby researching at the mo (I know I hate Bangkok airport & Los Angelos transit sucks) - will get him to investigate Hong Kong - that sounds cool! Any advice from your sis would be much appreciated!

Brissy sounds awesome, I'm sure the weekend will feel like forever, I had one day with friends up north and it felt so good to clear the mind and take a real break. Not a bad deal either, shame you had to drink all that beer - it's a hard life hay!

http://www.hongkongairport.com/eng/index.html

Heres a link to Hong Kongs airport page. It has some pretty cool stuff. I know my sisters kids loved it because there was so much to do between flights. Although the boys will be a bit young to appreciate it lol.

I went years ago but it was before they had all this :(

Wish I had a beer today, Damn it's hot!

That's a cool airport, see what you mean about the Movie Theatre... cross fingers that we get to have a play there. Even if the boys arn't old enough we'll have fun.

Tell me about it, it's just too hot at the mo, no complaints though.

Sounds like all the twins are growing well! Mine were heifers when they were born (7lb1oz and 6lb8oz at 36 weeks ) and for the first few months but then they tapered off and were only 8kg and 7.8kg at 13 mths. Funny gremlins.

And yep, you can't fly on your own with twins under 2 unless you pay for a seat for one of them and strap them into their carseat, and like Cat said it's totally at the mercy of the flight crew on the day. It's a giant PITA, we fly to Oz 3-4 times a year and it meant mum or dad had to come over and escort us back coz DH never goes with us. This last time we could have flown alone coz they are over 2 so have their own seats, but I'm not brave enough to fly on my own with 4 of them! So mum and dad came too.

Twinboys - I think 3 years is a great age gap. We found out we were pregnant on Maya's 3rd birthday and she was 3 years 7 mths when they were born. We would have liked a smaller gap but things didn't work out that way, and in hindsight I'm glad coz it was the perfect age gap. Maya was at preschool and was old enough to understand what was going on with the babies, and is a great big sister.

There's 20 mths between the gremlins and lil miss and all I can say is small age gaps are way overrated! Anyone who would choose to be pregnant while chasing twin toddlers around (they were 13 mths when I found out I was preg and weren't even walking at that stage) - good luck to them! It was hard, hard, hard work. Having a baby and twin toddlers not so much, in fact after the first 6 weeks or so it's been pretty cruisy (except for lil miss getting sick and ending up in hospital) but a lot of that is coz she is such a cruisy, placid baby. God help me if she'd been a screamer like they were. But pregnancy was tough. At 9 mths preg with her I found lifting them in and out of the car, onto the change table etc. hard work and they weren't very verbal so it was hard to explain to them what was going on. Didn't help that I was sick from 5 weeks till delivery tho.

Yea I have to agree 3 years seems like the perfect gap I don't think I could handle anything before that!!! Would loooove to have at least one more though.... a boy would be nice
Am currently waiting for my SIL to give birth to her second Shes 38 weeks last time she got to 37 so it could be any day. Not sure what shes having as its a surprise. She already has a girl so it would be nice to see a boy on DH's side They live in Oz though so it could be awhile before we meet the new addition Sux being so far away I love his sister shes such a cool chic.

Maya: What a nightmare!!! I don't know how you did it, trying to cope with your girls while preggers - must have been damn tough. I'm so in love with babies at the moment and dream of having another one already. BUT I do realise that it would be damn hard so think I will leave it to the 3 year age gap and just the thought of having twins again and going through the rollercoaster I went through - no thanks, I'll give it a break!

Floss: How exciting, it never crossed my mind that twins would walk at different times, makes sense but it just never crossed my mind - you must be getting a good workout at the moment!!!. Did Noah get frustrated that she couldn't walk while Lola could?

So sorry I said she & not he, I know of both sexes being called Noah. Shouldn't have presumed - especially the fact that we pronounce Eli like Ellie so people presume he's a she... can't wait till he's an obvious boy (even though he's always in blue or green). Sorry.

Yay for Noah!!! Man are you gonna be busy now Floss!

I think with twins it can be really easy to fall into the trap of comparing babies development. Like if one baby starts sitting/crawling/walking before the other you start to worry that somethings wrong with the baby that isn't doing those things.
My sisters twin boys were like your two floss one started crawling and walking WAY befor other and man did it freak her out lol! She was so worried something was wrong
I guess all babies are different but with twins its so easy to assume they should be on par with everything.

Twinboys - I know what you mean I always try to dress the girls in something girlie yet people always ask if they're boys grrrrr can be frustrating. I've even had them all in pink and still been asked haha!

Twinboys its ok I actually didn't even notice till you said something!

Lisa I was really worried about Noah to since he wasn't doing the things that Lola was although Noah says alot more than Lola does so they are both good at different things.
