I also noticed that, as soon as you give up...or stop focusing on it ...you conceive...happened to few of our friends.

Good luck for next month Paws!!! Sending baby dust your way!

Just wondering if everyone was aware that you ovulate 14 days BEFORE your period. So in hindsight, you can get an idea of your fertile time for the coming months. eg of a 28 day cycle - ovulation day 14
but of a 32 day cycle you wouldnt have ovulated until day 18! Sometimes people get confused with the magic dat 14 thing and may miss the 'peak time'. You can confirm this by charting your cycle with temps and mucus obs. This also means that if you typically have long cycles - there is not point in preg testing until 14 days after ovulation
Wishing you all the best

Not everyone has a Luteal phase 14 days, that is just the average lenght of most women.  The phase is the same lenght for a women each month.  Mine is 12 days

Mine seems to change. Some months it is 12 days, others only 10.

Really?  It is supposed to be the same length.  I guess it depends if you get when you ovulate right or not.

I do the BBT thing, I don't know why my LP differs? I do know that it is a little on the short side, but my OBGyn doesn't think that's a problem. He also told me that even when you are 100% accurate with your BBT temping you can still ovulate one or two days either side of the temp rise, so maybe that explains it.

I have NEVER had a regular cycle!! When we tried I suppose we were lucky that it seemed to happen quite quickly because if we had had to start counting etc. it would have never worked! Everyone is different I suppose!!

My cycle varries in lenght too from 27-34 days, but it's the first phase that varries in length not the luteal phase

I guess I'm lucky that it's the 2nd part that varies here - it helps to know when I'm going to ovulate when we want to AVOID conceiving lol - otherwise Willie would be missing out a whole lot more! One my temp goes up we know we're pretty safe.

When I used the detection kits last month I ovulated right bang on day 14...we didn't test this month becuase we knew that we wouldn't be able to do anything when we had to seeing as we were away with a group from church...I'll see what happens next month when I start testing again....
