Topic: Argh!! Posted: 10 September 2005 at 12:42pm |
Sorry ladies, jsut need to have a bit of a rant - think those hormones must finally be kicking in!!
What is it about boys and their toys?! My hubby is off all afternoon riding motorbikes and tomorrow he is away all day racing his rally car and last night he was out playing canoe polo. Now that I think about it the night before he was out at the pub too! Now dont get me wrong its great that hes got lots of things to do, but what about me?! I get to sit at home and do all the housework, cooking etc and I dont get any toys! Unless the vaccuum cleaner is classed as one! He doesnt think twice about spending a couple of hundred $$ going racing tomorrow but when I want anything for the babys room its a big deal. I think his priorities will change once the babys here, but at the moment he doesnt understand why it needs a set of drawers and a new cot mattress!!
I think I'm just grumpy cos I'm bored and hes never here. I have a few friends here but we dont have the same kind of things to do that the boys do. All they ever want to do is go shopping - not so exciting in Dannevirke!! I know that in a few weeks I'm going to be very busy and I should appreciate this time. You know even if Daniel was at home I dont know what exactly it is that I would want to do. Argh!! Bl**dy hormones. Poor Daniel really, no wonder he doesnt want to be at home!!
Anyway, just needed to have a bit of a rant about it all.

Feel free to rant away, that's what we're all here for
We went to visit my cousin and his wife yesterday and they have a 3 year old and she is 33 weeks with #2 My cousine announced that he was going drinking because he only had 7 more weeks of freedom. His wife told him he was about 3 years too late for that...
I know what you mean about the boredom tho. Even tho we live in Auckland, I remember it being too hot and being too lazy to go anywhere, I just vegetated at home. I got soooo sick of kids cartoons!

i know what you mean. after jake was born, lweis used to go out drinking with his friends. we wer only in the country for a short time so he wanted to spend time with them, but i would've thought he would've wanted to spend time with his new son too!!!
Actually as I say this, he is getting ready to go out. I don't mind too much as I like the alone time though. but when i wasn't working it drove me crazy

Willie came to visit on the day Maya was born (he was at worl during the birth ) but the day after got too drunk and didn't come up. The day before we went home he came up with a hangover and stinking of beer and I wouldn't let him touch Maya. he couldn't understand why - I didn't want her getting drunk on the fumes! Guys just have no idea sometimes...

ha. mike wanted to have celebratory drinks at our place while i was in hospital after having ayja - i told him no way... if i have to sit up there at night all bored and alone, then he could sit at home and do the same lolol
argh Aimee, hopefully Daniel will get his priorities straight soon enough. all mike used to do was spend thousands on subs and stuff for his car. now every time we go out PAris or Ayja ends up with something... his priorities have gone completely to his girls.. a little overboard sometimes i think but better than subs and alloys, thats for sure!
he does get to go out every saturday night during pseedway season though to help crew for his dad. and every few weekends he goes out on a sunday arvo to play pool, but mostly we do stuff together.

Aimee I think all men are the same!
My hubby use to play soccer every Sat...it takes 1/2 hour to get there and 90 min of soccer and yet he use to be home after 5-6 hours..."oh you know babe how it is, I had to drop off my mates and they insisted on having some beer after the game"......Ummmmhhhhuuu
And now that the soccer season is over and we have our own house..It is party at our house....mind you I am there but don’t enjoy the "heeeeee hhhhaaaaa heeeeee" some how after a few beers every thing is funny to them......
I had a fight with him on Sunday and told him that if he was drunk and unable to take me the hospital when I go to labour...I will divorce him!!!! So he said I promise babe...I will quit drinking 2 weeks before you are due...oh thanks allot!!!! How nice of him.....arrrggg
I sure hope he gets his priorities straight soon too!
Ahhhh I feel better after my rant!!!!

i remember my mum telling me about when my brother was born. My stepdad had a really boozey night at the pub & when he got home my mum went off her nut at him saying "just because you've come home drunk, tonight will be the night!!", sure enough 10 minutes later her labour started. My mum has always had really short labours so she had to send my stepdad to have a puke in hope that it would get rid of some of the alcohol 2 hours after that I got a new brother

Men aye! Don't you love it when they are sick and(dieing) They can just go to bed and sleep it off but they forget that when we are sick and have kids we can't just have a nap we have to keep going! Sorry thats one thing that bugs me!

When I went into labour with Maya, Willie went to work and left me at home with no car. Then later that night before I went to the hospital I got into bed to try and rest and he got up and said "you're keeping me awake with all that noise" and went and slept in the spare room! I rang my mate and she came to pick me up to go to the hospital as planned, and Willie complained because I asked him to help put the carseat and the bags in the car.
Hello, I was in labour with HIS child! Grrrr!
