Elective c-sections

My Cousin is deciding to have an elective as she sees it as "easier" than labour (to be fair she did have a third degree tear and broke her tailbone). I don't think it is true, but I was just wondering from the people who did have electives did they find it easier than labour? (time, recovery, etc)
After my emergency c-section with this one I will definately try for a VBAC but I am just curious cause I didn't find my C easy at all.

Yep my elective was easy in terms of recovery as apposed to the 51+hrs of labour then an emergency C that I had first time round.
I was out of hosp 2 days after the elective (4 days with emerg) & able to do most stuff within 2 weeks without pain (4-6 weeks after emerg)

Jo, I didnt find my e c section easy at ALL!!! I couldnt walk, i couldnt get off my bed by myself for a couple of weeks, i wasnt alond to drive for 3weeks, it just wasnt pleasant at all and i hate how people think we get it easy having a section....... I didnt really answer ur Q. But im deff going to try for a vbac next time.

I found my elective c-section (breech) easy easy easy, and the recovery was lovely. I would do it again in a heartbeat.

I had an emergency C with my second baby.

I will have an elective for the next one, I recovered really well and very quickly after my section.   Specialist has suggested I have an elective as he doesn't see my dialiating past 5cm, just like my last 2 attempts at naural birth.

I will have a date and time for my 3rd baby

I had an emergency c-sec with my first followed by 4 natural births, boths boys I had were 10lb+ at term. Im petrified of having a natural birth again on the 50/50 chance it could be a boy (they couldnt tell on scan). Midwife sent me to OB to discuss induction at 38weeks but he wont do it because of previous c-sec scar. Im now unsure if I should go with elective like OB suggested or to just harden up and go natural again. It was just so hard and painful when they were so big and afterwards they fed hourly for the first month (again because they were big) which to be honest just about drove me nuts, as in I was constantly exhausted. What is your guys opinions on it????

I think it totally must depend what type of natural birth you had - I couldn't get out of bed to get my baby either (and yep had to buzz every time), couldn't sit up properly to feed, had a catheter in and legs were still numb from the surgery, and in so much pain. No way was I getting up for a shower!

I had a emergency c section, and it was a horrible experience, I had a lot of issues afterwards and my recovery was awful took me a good 6 weeks to come right.

This time, I am trying a VBAC first, but if I get to 41 weeks I will have an elective c section, and that thought scares me more than a vaginal birth.
C sections are major surgery! So even an elective, IMO is not gonna be a walk in the park.

it really does depend on the individual......on all points we are talking about lol   i can't say which is easier as i've only had c/s, but if i was your cousin, i'd probably think a c/s would be easier for her too!

i've had an elective and emergency c/s unfortunately and if i could, i'd choose a vbac still but only so i could experience it all. but that's never gonna happen....i digress....lol

my 1st c/s was elective and that was easy. it was scary, but i think that was more to do with becoming a mum than having an op! the recovery was really quick, up and walking that night, showering that morning and moving house 5days after

my emergency c/s (after 9hrs labour) recovery was extremely quick given the fact they tore my uterine wall trying to get her out, lost 3ltrs of blood and had a catheter for 3days. was still up and about the following day and home on day 5. was feeling back to normal about 2wks after. i think i'm just a quick healer.

the only thing i hate about my c/s was how drugged up i was afterwards. i can't remember those first few hours after the birth, people visiting for the first time etc and that bugs me! also having to get help to feed bubs all the time because you can't get out of bed to get them, not doing the first bath etc

geez..i can't even remember what the question was now!

I hated both my sections, but the first was alot worse than the one after my attempted VBAC. But both weredrawn out proccess with inductions and interventions!
