Has anyone heard anything more about the plans by Auckland Kindy Assoc to get rid of the half day sessions? I missed the segment on Breakfast the other week and I can't find much on it. Will it affect all kindys? Jack is on the waiting list for a private kindy that is local and I know that he won't cope with full day sessions, at least to begin with
As far as I know it's just the public kindys that come under the AKA that are doing it. They're moving to 6 hour sessions, but I think some will still offer either a morning or afternoon session for kids who don't want to attend the whole day. Some kindys have already started offering the 6 hour days, but not all of them. Ours isn't doing it anytime in the near future, but they said that they will have to do it at some stage
i spoke to my head kindy teacher the other day about it and she said she are fighting it... if she wanted to work in daycare she would have done that instead of a kindy!
