OK I've had a good read back, lots to catch up on (which I love actually).

Just wanted to say again Freckle that I am so sorry to here about what you are going through. Really hope that you have got some good support around you.

Isabella I love the ceramics idea! Very cool. I was joking to DH about doing one for my dad, but with my hand prints on it That's awesome that you are enjoying your job so much, so glad you have been able to make it work so well for you and S.

Hayz how is I's rash, hopefully the Dr sorted it out for you. Funny about you stalking the labour ward again I reckon you'd make a good MW because you are so interested in the whole process. I was thinking I wouldn't mind being one of the nurses on the maternity wards, lots of new mums and bubs around, although there were some people in hospital at the same time as me with some really sad stories, so maybe not.

CJ, that's great that E is sitting so well. You must be so proud of the way she is meeting all these milestones! Is there anyway that you can be more relaxed about here sleeping? It might help on those days if you can just focus on something else, or is E super grumpy when she misses a sleep?

FB so glad to here you are feeling better and that solids are going well. That sleep position sounds like us too, except the arm under the head, I kind of wedge my arm between the two of us.

Anna good to here that L is on the mend - sounds like you have been working hard to help her recover. Hopefully you will both be 100% very soon. Your PIL will be blown away by all the changes in her over 3 months eh?

Thmprs, sorry to here you have all been sick as well. Not fun on your holidays.

Ange yay for O eating apples and enjoying them!

Ceres glad A is fine and you are ok, good luck with the loto tonight

AFM Were good. Quinn is sleeping better day and night, although he is consistently waking at three hour intervals now. But that means that I am only getting up twice a night to him instead of 4 or more so I am happy. He is rolling all over the place too, nothing is safe any more. We need to get baby proofing here. Also we are doing three solid meals a day - and he is doing so well on them now. But he has started pooing more again ! There not that bad really, just means that we are going through quite a few nappy changes, little toad!

Has anyone else been more emotional lately? I have been way more sappy than usual, getting teary over tv, news stories, other peoples baby stories... it's awful. It's not as bad as just after Q was born, but it's a bit embarassing!

FReckle that is AWFUL, respiratory failure UGH. how awful to be dealing with that and a young baby. thoughts and prayers are with you. i hope the prognosis is positive.
PD i get freaked when she misses sleep during the week cuz she is likely ot need to sleep round when the kids get out of school and the noise level is terrible, i know she wont drop off to sleep when they are picked up. i a gree tho i need to chill out. today was an interesign test, she woke at 1pm and wouldnt go back to sleep but she didnt need to go down to sleep again till 4pm which is great, will mean if she does an early wake will miss that school run... so am abit hopeful! today she sat for 20mins with only 2 slight adjustments from me, the rest of the time if she got wobbly or off course she corrected herself! proud moment. i am really happy she is doing so well cuz we expected with her being prem the movement milestones she would be way behind, as is expected of prems. Yay for only waking 2x in the nite now must make a big difference to you! and yea once they have solids more regularly the more they poo, i wonder if it regulates again later like in the beginning, we went from poo every nappy change to once every few days. I do have some emotional patches, not too dramatic, but was wondering if because i have dropped a feed that PMT and the 501 might come back, might be the same for you too, when dropping feeds your bosy will be adjusting hormonally. also, weird fact, did you know that as baby takes less milk the bodsy makes the BM more concentrated with the good stuff?? pretty cool eh!

Oh my goodness, Freckle, . Sending all my thoughts in your, and your families, way. I realise there probably isn't anything much I can do from here, but if there is anything at all x.

I just sent a message on FB to those of you who missed my update the other day, so you're not left wondering what happened with A. Such a relief!

But then, today, more drama. We have never seen so many doctors as since A was born, she's having such a tough time of it. She had to try soy milk before she was allowed to be prescribed the neocate alternative thing (I don't think neocate is funded anymore). So today, I mixed 3TBSP of soy formula with her farex. And she came out in massive massive hives, everywhere. Her face and hands were so covered there was no white skin. She was in unbearable pain too, so so itchy. Screaming. She's now on oral steriods and antihistimine, but the hives haven't gone anywhere yet. And her eczema has flared up badly. Her legs are so so sore. Allergies SUCK.

Right, best get back to A. DH is feeding her dinner (safe foods, Kumara and pear, her allowed foods list is seriously small) but I can hear her getting angsty. Her poor mouth seems to be sore as well.

SOrry for the recent lack of anything but me posts, promise to do a proper read through soon! x.

Oh, poor Freckle - all the best to you guys! And poor A too, Ceres - what a horrible experience after already being shaken up!

Fantastic on the sitting CJ, that's really great progress. Sounds like she's way ahead of adjusted age rather than behind .

I better finish making tea now...just laughed when I read your thing about being more emotional PD, cos junior masterchef had me in tears just now - ridiculous!

Ceres, you deserve a break!!! Poor A has been going through so much. How soon can you get her onto the neocate now she's shown a reaction to the soy formula?

Clever E, CJ! Do you still keep in touch with any of the NICU staff? Bet they'd be amazed at what a star she is.

PD, yep I'm an emotional mess at times. Is it still hormonal this late after birth or have I just gone soft?

aww ceres you are having a real hard time lately, poor wee A all out in hives, makes me angry that the drs cant put her on the neiocate from the start because she obviously has a decent allergic reaction going on to a number of things. so lucky you trued the soy in such a sml dose and not a whole bottle, clever you!
faffer we havent been back to nicu since, her specialist visits in another part of the hospital and been abit scared to go back for the memories, i get quite upset when i look at the photos of her back then. we will go back, and i want to write a bio of her to go on the wall, as the bios some mums have written are all about the really hard babies that have alot of ops, i think it would be nice to give some parents some hope that a baby born as early as E can buck the trend and get through the nicu without any dramas and have a strong development after. noone gave us hope like that when we went thru they kept telling us E would get at least 1 infection etc. i know her development reports go back to her main dr tho, but they see so many babies there, E is just another one too!
well a day of 3 well timed naps and E just having her bottle now in front of the all blacks (great game). E is 6 months corrected age tomorrow!

Evening ladies

Sorry I really am slack with keeping up with posts on here, I normally read up on my phone while feeding so I'm keeping up with how everyone is going in the middle of the night!

Just wanted to pop on quickly and say that I'm thinking of you Freckle, I just can't imagine what a difficult time this must be for you and your girls. Best wishes for a speedy recovery for your DF. Stay strong x

wow some awful things happening at the moment. Freckle thats such awful news, hope your DF gets better soon!

Ceres I still cant see what happened to poor little A, are you able to message me. And man thats awful she has such bad allergies. Do they not have a blood test they can take to see what she is allergic to instead of trial and error? Thats so sad she was obviously uncomfortable with it was well!

wish I could think of a better word than awful

PD def been more emotional. I get so sad over the strangest things. And lately with L being sick I just want to cry every time I cuddle her, I guess thats different but I never used to be emotional at all! and yay for better sleeping

Meetup: wed next week fine for me. Just need to pick a time now and we all set :) if you can facebook us your address.

CJ: yay for E sitting for so long, what an achievement!

So Sorry to hear your DF is unwell Freckle!!  Be hard enough with anyone in hospital let alone having a family to care for as well....you are doing a great job, and I hope he recovers soon, thinking of you!!

Ceres sorry to hear A is unwell again!!  Poor Mummy and Daddy also, can be very hard as a parent seeing your little one in pain, like Faffer said hopefully she can go straight on the neocate.  Poor wee girl!!  I didnt see the FB msg...is there another group and Im way behind the game??  Ive been very slack at getting on to reply lately.  How are you enjoying your new place??  Hopefully all settled in.

PD Glad to hear the Oesto was of some help....Mr Q sounds like he is loving his solids!!

Anna sorry to hear you are unwell hopefully by the time you read this you will have improved alot more!!!

I should really be watching the game...but fiqured this is when comp free and nice and quiet........

Thmprs hope L is alot better with his Croup...these winter bugs are just horrible.....bring on summer I say!!!!

Faffer how do you like your high chair??  I dont mind ours but just the tray piece is annoying...not one handed to pull out and doesnt really slide in that easy.  Maybe Im just being a bit fussy??

CJ that sounds like a great idea about an update for E for the NICU.  Def encouragement for other parents experiencing the same thing.......exactly what they would need to see whilst being in there, esp like you said if you didnt get alot of it.

AFM  We are all fine here...except just today Ive noticed A doing a wee cough cough...hopefully its nothing and me being just paranoid!!  Solids going okish...he refused them today...not sure what thats about....weve been doing farex and fruit.  Tried pumpkin a couple of days ago but wasnt a hit, so we are just slowly easy into it I think.  A wee milestone today I noticed A has cut his first tooth, one of his bottom ones.....hasnt worried him too much but since noticing it I have put his amber beads on and doing bonjela...he never lets me put anything in his mouth...ie, syringe for pamol etc. even before he cut his tooth if I tried bonjela he would refuse but today he lets me and likes me rubbing his gums....must be helping.

Right best go 5mins left of the game to see.......can someone update me on FB group please?

CJ the sleeps are a funny thing eh, Quinn did a 1hr30min sleep today ( ) and put him right out this arvo, ended up losing it at 5:30 and having a 20min nap on me then continued with the night routine, but made it an 8pm bedtime instead of 7pm.

I like the idea of you doing a profile thing for NICU. Would be nice to have a good story there for people to read.

Ceres that is horrible. You guys are having a really hard time of it lately. Poor A, allergies totally suck.

Caughtnee, I hope that cough doesn't develop into anything

Glad you guys have been having the emotions thing too. Faffer I have a sneaky suspicion that it's not hormonal and I have just gotten soft!

Yay for a tooth caughtknee! Wow E must be one of the last to bot have one! Try carrot, that is a nice sweet veg that mushes up really well! tried E on avo on toast today she loved it! more NAM NAM NAM noises as she chewed the bread!
PD that reminds me, wot bedtimes do you all set, and wot time do your babies wake up for the day? We put E down, well after her bottle and bath she is asleep but 8.30pm or abit later, and wakes now at 7.30 or 8am for the day. am interested as i read that they expect babies to be STTN for 11 hours so much as i want E to go to bed earlier i dont want to sacrifice it for an earlier start in the morning?? being up before 9am is a PITA hehe, like my morning lie ins.
Glad you like the nicu story idea, quite excited about doing it!

Geez everything is driving me crazy this weekend. I wonder if AF is on it's way again.

I won't be able to make the meet up sorry, won't have any money for petrol for a couple of weeks until I pay the lawyer bill.

Thankfully Rose has actually been sleeping pretty well the last couple of nights. She has doing around 6hrs first off then a couple of 3 hr stretchs. And she has been happy to go back to sleep in her cot so I get the bed all to myself to about 6-7am. And yesterday afternoon she had an almost 3 hr nap.

I hope things get better for you Freckle and Ceres.

Yay mum has just got back with some shopping, hope she got some coke.
