Congratulations, Nikau99.
I'm pregnant for the first time and whilst I have curious excitement at having a scan I don't really see the point unless something indicates that it's necessary. Almost all medical procedures have risks and I'm not prepared to take those risks simply for curiosity.
Have been feeling a little queasy around lunch and dinner time but other then that I'm fine. Hope MS doesn't take hold.

We're not going to find out. All our friends did and it just doesn't feel right to us - you don't get too many surprises in life and we want this as one for us :) I'm off to the GP Tuesday to have bloods and hopefully a referral for a dating scan. Yay for November babies! We're going to tell hubby's parents today as they're off overseas for 5 weeks. Told my parents the other day. Other than that Mum (and Dad)'s the word!!

Shall we add which number baby it is on that list?
My first MW appointment is on the 30.3, I went diabetic last time round and produced a humugous baby so this time the diabetic team wants to monitor me from 8 weeks so I had to get in to see my MW early so she could refur me properly.
Still no symptoms here, 6 weeks today! 32 to go! (most likely)

I immediately rang my birth mother and told her (she lives in Rotorua), we're holding off telling my adoptive parents in Auckland because Mum as the worlds biggest mouths - have had 2 lots of personal info spread round the family and dont want a repeat (I didnt even get to tell my sister I was engaged cause Mum beat me to it!)
Oh and i have a really good mate thats due the week before me - but thats about it!
I dont want to find out the gender but I think DH wants to - Mum told me years ago when I said it spoilt the suprise that I would be being difficult if we didnt find out umm ok!

Yay - had the scan today and everything is as it should be. It changes my due date from the 2nd to the 7th, but that isn't too much longer so that is good.

Well we told my in-laws last night at I have to say I wish we hadn't. The reponse from my MIL was - 'oh well don't get too excited' - obviously in reference to the MC I had last time. Talk about burst a girls bubble lady!! I was so excited that I'd finally conceived after so long and all that excitement was gone in a matter of seconds!!! I'm secretly glad that they've gone overseas for the next 5 weeks as I don't know if I could force myself to be nice. She is usually so lovely and supportive (although her response to my trying to discuss my saddness at not being able to concieve was 'it will happen when the times right' - again, so not helpful, so I never spoke with her about it again) so this was a big big shock.
Humf.
I hope everyone else has had excitement as response to their announcements!

We are not going to tell anyone until 12 weeks (easter surprise!) as this is our first pregnancy and my mum had three miscarriages so we don't want to jump the gun. We are not going to find out the sex as my hubby is keen to keep that a surprise for us. I would never be able to keep that secret if I knew so I'm not finding out either. Our first midwife appointment is on the 4th of April.
we started thinking about where we are going to fit a baby in our house, we are definitely going to need to make some big changes!

I'm glad DH doesn't want to tell any of his family till we're at 12weeks - I can imagine the MIL wont be that thrilled, she was less than happy about us getting married

What a shame Atiamuri Although she probably just doesn't want to see you hurt again, and the older generations way of 'dealing' with pain is often far more stoic than ours....which can unwittingly be far more hurtful. The fact that you say she is usually so lovely and supportive, makes me think that she has been/is really effected by your MC and current preg....she's probably too scarred to be excited. Not helpful for you at all tho!
My Dad said "Don't ya know how to use contraception?" ...dick...sometimes my Dad just is a dick.
Pumpkin! You are amazing if you can keep that secret for that long. I wish I could but I just caaaan't!!

Haha Cass(although not REALLY funny) But it reminds my of my grumpy father in law....when we told him we were preg last time (she now 10mths) he said....."what'd ya wanna go and do that for? It'll cost ya" Rahahahhaaa....Man the guy is an idiot, said the same thing about us getting engaged. He's just so so incredibly jaded by his own life's experience that he has become totally bitter and twisted....glad he doesn't live in this town. Needless to say I'd be quite happy to never tell him about this one
