Topic: Woo Hoo!! Posted: 02 September 2005 at 7:43pm |
Had my last day at work today!! Am really glad that it is over with now but also means I dont have much longer to go and feel a bit nervous. Was quite sad too cos everyone says such lovely stuff about u when u leave - wish they said it when u were having a crappy day!!
Not really sure what I'm going to do now (have about 7 weeks before due date). Want to paint babys room and finish that off but also have big plans for reading books and having naps

Yay Aimee! I finished work at 30 weeks, and pretty much spent the last 10 weeks sleeping and watching kids TV shows. I wonder if that's why Maya loves Caillou so much?

it hasnt really sunk in yet that i dont have to go back! Am a little worried about the money situation but we've been poor students for so long we should be fine!
I am going to make a list of things I want to do over the next few weeks (Im a list person!) including books I want to read! I have a bit to do in the bubs room and I want to go swimming (to feel weightless!). definitely planning on naps!!

lol i did that and tried to do one each day so i didn't feel like i had completely wasted the day... of course, some days i would make alist of things to do, and include "have a nap" and "eat something yummy" on it, so i didn't feel like my whole list was boring stuff. i'm a bit weird. lol. it's like the list gives you permission to do it... it's like, well it's on the list, i HAVE to do it.

LOL at the list of books you want to read - I did that two and read non stop. I haven't read a whole book since I had Maya 2 1/2 years ago...

LOL! I like to read a few pages of a book when I get into bed at night, just helps me wind down from the day and get to sleep quicker.

Yes, read. Read while you can.
I miss it soooo much!
Now any time that I have to pick up a book it has to be school work

LOL, I keep telling myself that as a writer, reading is part of my job. But I am so shattered by the end of the day that I can't even think about picking up a book. It's enough of a mission just trying to read the daily newspaper hehe (I read it during the ad breaks on Dr Phil )
I have decided tho thatI will start going to the NZ Herald Literary lunches once a month, and buying and reading the book that is featured. I figure it's important 'career development' and good 'me time'

hahaha love that it's when kids are quiet that it's most disconcerting. noise is very reassuring!
hmmm reading while in the bath. that's a good idea. hannah plays in there for at least 1/2 an hour (or less if she finds the plug). it'd be good time to catch up on my school work!
