Yea Bizzy, I guess it could be worse! I am not down on it, I am actually finding it really interesting what is actually in our food!
kezplanet, that is what this analysis is like.
fluery, I gave her oats this morning for breakfast with just water and she liked them so thats good!
Thats what I am aiming for a more simple diet. Tonight for dinner she had a plain chicken breast baked in the oven and a bowl of steamed silverbeet, brocolli and pumpkin!
I bought her some wheat and gluten free rye bread today, she liked it thankfully, I think it is  !!!

Ewww, I agree! The gremlins were wheat free to about 7-8 mths and I used to give them rice bread and just the texture of it was enough to put me off!

Peachy, rye and oats contain gluten, so if you want to avoid all gluten they are out too...
Gluten is in oats, rye, wheat and barley.

Oh is it? I selected that type of bread for the fact that it was wheat free, she isn't allergice to gluten, but I will opt for gluten free when possible!

You can get rice bread instead, normally in gluten free or organic section of supermarket. Is gross but Spencer use to love it.

oh my gosh the poor wee thing is allergic to lots. Hopefully she will grow out of it as she gets older. go and see a specialist though and get the skin prick tewsts done to see how she reacts. Some things may only be minor reactions e.g. she just gets an increase of mucos produced.
She may also not be allergic but in tolerant they are 2 different things.

Well we have had the all clear today!
Lauren had RAST tests last week and she is negative to everything except cats!!
That was the best news to receive today, especially since its her birthday!!

Sorry to throw a spanner in the work's, but in my limited knowledge we have had RAST test for Mikey and his Ezhema and they all came back NEH however recently I found out from his doc(not the one who sent us for test) that is is ofeten a false report wit hunder 2's and jsut casue we got a neg does not mean he does not have intollrence
I s understand how you feel we have been battling this with Mikey for so long. there is nothing worse then wating an itchy kid suffer. We are waiting to see the specialst how ever it seem's here in the Naki we don't have one at the momnet.

ButterflyMum Lauren is having RAST tests again in 6 months time to check again.
I have total faith in the specialist we are seeing, he is one the of the best Allergy Peads around. He has given us some creams that are working wonderfully, wish I had of seen him earlier! I am no longer using 1% hydrocortizone either, just a cream that helps the skin retain moisture. I apply it minimum of 4 times a day.
I have reintroduced some of the foods I was excluding, eg milk and she has not flared at all.
cuppatea, yes we have a puddy cat, but he made me promise I would not get rid of her. He is a firm believer that having a cat in your home will help reduce the chance of eczema children getting asthma. Sounds odd to me, but means I get to keep my cat (much to DH's disappointment)!!

Maybe its so they're used to the allergens from cats, my DH gets asthma from cats, but he loves them and living with them he gets used to it and no asthma.
Yay for Lauren must be a relief.

Not too sure KA. He advised me to keep her as I lived with her when I was pregnant, so I guess its something to do with the fact that Lauren eas exposed while inside me. She is an outdoor cat though, she hardly ever sets foot inside cause Lauren chases her!
I was a little confused too, but I trust his word!
Its her second day of dairy (half half bottles of formula as she doesn't like the taste) and her skin is 100% eczema free.

I know the girls' allergist has this mantra "cats are good, dogs are bad" when it comes to allergies. I don't know the reasoning either but that's what he says.

now that really interesting about the cat thing as we have a family friends whos daughter is allergic to cats. Diagonesd after she spent sometime at my mum and dads who have a cat. She is going to go on the desesitised thing. Hopefully all her allergies will disappear in time the last time she had tests her reactions weren't as bad so heres hoping. Poor thing is allergic to eggs, tree nuts, cats, some pollens and used to get excema really bad.
