I will be getting Neosha vaccinated! I has having sex at 15 and didnt even have an idea of what cervical cancer was! I am truly hoping I can prevent Neosha from living her life too quickly the way I have but I also want to have safety for her if she decides which she will that she wants to have sex.

Been there done that and got the ...
My older girls are 10 and 12 and I will be getting them vaccinated. As soon as I heard about it I'd pretty much made up my mind already. I will have a read of any info released before my final decision.
But I am absolutely sure this will not make my girls suddenly run out and have sex.
I am pretty open with them and as we watched it on the news I explained the why's how's etc. They know it is something that will help protect them against only one of the many STD's out there.

I have a question for those that may not have answered... and they may not read this anyway.

For those that have non-vaxed as babies for other things - would you consider the HPV vaccination? Or would you rule out for the same reasons as the rest?

I found out I had HPV only once I had gone in for my colposcopy and Leitz biopsy, I had never had any signs of it, had had it for years and not a clue. Apparently it can sit up on your cervix and not flare up outside so a silent one for me. My specialist Dr Blue? Maybe Green hehe at North Shore Hospital told me that it caused my cervical cancer'ish' (caught it just in time apparently) and that had I not been 'such a good girl' hehe and been so regular with my smears it might have been left a little while too long and never been found. If I had girls or the chance myself to have it when I was younger it would be a definate YES!
