Issue with another child at kindy

A couple of times this week, Ashleigh has come home and told me about another girl being mean to her. She is saying things like you're not my friend, I don't like you and you're not nice etc. Ashleigh has been telling me very matter of factly and it doesn't seem to be upsetting her but I'm not sure if it is upsetting her when it is actually happening. I've told her the normal things, just stay away from her and play with your friends etc or if she is really upsetting you then go and tell a teacher. Ash is a very friendly girl and would play with anyone but only if they approach her first so she definately wouldn't be starting this or doing anything mean to this other girl. I realise this is all a normal part of young children playing (still heartbreaking though, especially as this is the first time anything like this has happened and I wanna go slap this horrible little girl lol!!). So my question is, should I just leave it like that and keep checking with Ash if it is happening or should I have a quiet word to the head teacher about it? This girl is part of about 5 or 6 girls who always play together so I would hate for them all to start doing things like this.

I agree with Bizzy ,and for your reassurance , get the teachers to keep an eye on it .

AHhh ,the joys of girls! at around four they start the whole "your not my friend anymore " tbh , your daughter may end up doing it as well , I always said C wouldn't be a girl who did that , nearly fell off my chair the day I heard her say to another little girl "I don't like you , you aren't my friend anymore ! "
Ashleigh may end up dealing with it by being like Caitlyn and preferring the company of the boys ....

Good idea about talking to her teacher. I'm sure they'll keep a close eye on things

ETA: Brenna was talking about going on a holiday and taking you and Ashleigh with her...awww...they're so cute together

yeah one thing i find it that kids are COMPLETLY different when not with the parents........my boy goes to daycare with his friend and when he is hear with his parents he full on punchies my boy but apparently at school h is a saint........i asked teachers to keep on eye on them and although my boy shares etc he has learnt to give as much as he gets some of the things he does is hard for me to believe ......... oh and i did hear a young boy tell my boy he is ugly.......i almost cried but left it to see what ty would do.....he poked his tougue out and did the hole 'farting' noise......you had to laugh..........i think kids are more on to it then we give them credit for...oh and my boy is gonna be 'HOT" when he is older and a lawyer to get the other 'sh*t' out of jail lol
