Oh wow u really have been on a rollercoaster of a journey haven't u!! I am so pleased to hear it's worked for u this time!! So how many rounds of ivf? Was it govt subs? I did Accupuncture in first 16 weeks of preg and this woman was recommended to me ... She is absolutely wonderful and mainly focuses on women's health/fertility. If u are interested let me know and I'll give u her details... That's if u are in auckland:)

For us, 2 rounds of IVF, both government funded which was great, it would have broken us financially if we had to go private. Our IUIs were private though. I'm in Christchurch but am planning to go to an acupuncturist this time if I get excessive morning sickness again - was crook from week 5-40 last time! But hear acupuncture is amazing for women's health and fertility.

Oh right. Yes I know what u mean...IVF is soo pricey! Although I think people will pay anything for a chance to be parents eh! Yes accupuncture is amazing for all sorts of things including nausea!! Ohhh, I hope MS isn't as bad as last time...although it is a reassurance when you do have it... Knowing all your hormones are doing their job:) I would long to throw up lol, just so I knew everything was ok:) I ended up getting my period the other day....such a weird feeling actually being happy to see it, after so many years of being miserable when it came:-/ How are ur levels rising?

Had never been so happy to see it:) Anyway had our app...felt like home going back there and seeing the same specialist/nurse!! Was such a diff feeling this time round though as you prob felt too!! Feel a lot more positive about the whole thing and will start our first round of IUI in June ... Need to save a little before then:)

Hiya... Was hoping there might be a IUI thread about. We're starting IUI beginning of June. TTC # 2. Our first was conceived naturally - took just 3 months. But this time around, no luck after 8 months, and I'm 38 so time is ticking. No idea what its all about but we don't get funded for anything so we thought we'd start with this and see how we go. Specialist has recommended Gonal-F with IUI - so looks like we're going with the works. Go in on the 23rd to get the run down on injections. My cycle would be due to start 26th. Anyway - it would be nice to have some friends along the way that know what we're going through... Best of luck Mummy83.

Yep it's good to have this forum for a form of support. I find my friends are great but they don't truely understand what it's like to go through this journey so it's nice to be able to share it all with other people who understand! How old is your first miss_bling? Yes I had Gonal F with all my rounds first time round too. The first time it's pretty daunting injecting yourself but then (if you need more) u just get on with it:) Best of luck with your IUI!! Which city are u based in and which fertility clinic are u going to? Let us know what happens:)

Hey there, our little guy is three very shortly. I'm in Wellington and going through FA. I think that's the only place available to us in Wellington? No public funding either - age, and we have a child, so I'm hoping with everything that IUI is all we need :-) We got it right once so it can surely happen again ...

Hi Mummy83, I just had a look in here and saw your post. I'm 10+5 now and it's been a bit hair raising with some bleeding but I've had 2 scans and baby looks fine, just don't know where the bleed is from. Oh and I have hyperemesis again!! (as luck would have it :) ) But apart from that, everything is good. Great that your period came back naturally and that your first appointment back with the clinic went well. June is just around the corner! Hope to see here how you get on :) Thanks for asking after me.

Hey there.... We didn't end up going through with IUI... I got private cover for Lap surgery just prior so parked the IUI (and just as well!) discovering that I have two blocked tubes, so we're doing private IVF August, if not pregnant before then. specialist wanted us to try naturally first as they've seen Lap surgery create the tiniest of gaps in tubes to get an egg through, so worth a try :-) Congrats on the BFP Mummy83

Great news to see :) I hear you about being nervous, I hope you have a great 8 months of pregnancy ahead of you :) I'm 17.5 weeks now so have the anatomy scan in a couple of weeks, cant wait. And thankfully my morning sickness eased last week. All the very very best for your pregnancy!

Hi ladies, I'm hoping we will be starting our first round of IUI in about a month. Wee just chose a donor and signed consents and will be trying a number of unmedicated rounds first off. Using Repromed in Auckland. I also see Loula George (naturopath) at Motherwell and Suzi Downie in grey lynn is my acupuncturist lol, and Ross Payn in Ponsonby is my cranial osteopath and Jeannine Dawson in Northcote is my hypnotherapist haha! Can you tell I've been at this for a while and am trying every option known to womankind to get it to work this time. I've had two MC at 11w,5d with a known donor (home insemination - I'm half of a same sex couple). For a recent update check out my update post from tonight in the TTC for longer than 12mths forum (I think it's called that). Hope to get to know you all a bit better over the next few months and fingers crossed I get a lucky first time IUI BFP too!!
