Read MoreWelcome to the Remuera’s beautifully be-spoke Bear Park Centre! With it’s unique, well thought out design, this ‘taylor-made’ facility suits the needs of it’s users perfectly. It’s special design features enhance the experience of those who reside in its spaces, resulting in an environment which inspires growth and connection.
The centre has been purpose-built to represent a symphony of beautiful learning spaces. From their spacious outdoor areas to a central piazza, they have created an environment that is natural, transparent and inspiring for all who have the opportunity to attend. The teaching staff are passionate, creative and dedicated, inspired by the environment that surrounds them.
It’s not hard to see how this place inspires it’s teacher and students, the expansive outdoor areas and open light-filled rooms create a seamless environment for each child, allowing for endless investigative learning possibilities.
With a focus on the many expressive languages that children use and develop throughout their early years. Bear Park’s Remuera Centre houses a performing arts room, and central and classroom ateliers encourage children to engage in the art of dance, drama, music, art and more. It is their belief that through offering these various opportunities of expression and communication, children develop a stronger sense of self-worth.
As with every Bear Park centre they endeavour to always acknowledge their parents and whānau to build a strong sense of community. For whānau, they offer dedicated spaces to sit and dialogue with teachers and other parents. For all, the central piazza acts as the centre’s hub: a place to engage and participate, where relationships and connections can be reaffirmed and developed.
A Strong Sense of Sustainability
Building a sustainable, eco-friendly centre has always been an important vision of Bear Parks. They decided to take the opportunity to put their aim into action with the creation of their Remuera site. This has been outworked in the following ways:
Their Future
Bear Park are committed to nurturing a sustainable future. Recently, they have started hosting their own beehive and have put their own composting system in place.
Their Building
The Remuera centre was built to embody their natural and bi-cultural heritage using a predominance of wooden, natural and recycled resources throughout.
Their Community
The children develop strong connections with their local community through regular visits to our nearby Ohinerau (Mount Hobson).
Their Focus
The Remuera centre was built to emphasise transparency, making learning experiences more visible to all observers – whether they be parents, teachers or other children. They have done this through the use of glass: glass walls, doors and windows to see one’s friends through.
"Teachers at Bear Park Remuera are welcoming and caring for my child. The environments and the tools are encouraging to develop my child’s skills."
