Pampering at home in five easy steps
Here’s a recipe for a relaxing time-out treatment that will leave you feeling great.
Step 1: Wait until the kids are in bed or at kindy/daycare so you can have peaceful time to yourself without “Mum!” demands disrupting your inner calm.
Step 2: Make up your home-made facial product using one of the recipes below:
🥑 For dry skin: Half or whole ripe avocado mushed and mixed with 1 tbs each of cream and honey.
🥑 For oily skin: Two tbs of oatmeal, half a grated apple, a tsp of lemon juice and 1 tbs honey.
Step 3: Get yourself a large bowl or bucket of warm water and place it on a towel in front of your comfiest armchair. Add a few drops of essential oil or other sweetly scented product to the water. Get ready the things you’ll need for your facial: bowl of product, spatula for putting it on, a face cloth, a towel, a book or favourite magazine.
Step 4: Put your feet in the warm water and breathe a long sigh of relief. The therapy has begun.
Step 5: Slather on your facial mix and prepare to relax for 10 minutes. Read your magazine or doze.
🥑 Before you finish you may want to try this fantastic exfoliator for legs and feet:
Mix 2tbs of sugar to 100ml of olive or avocado oil. Add a few drops of your favourite essential oil and rub over your skin. Rinse off in the shower leaving your legs and feet soft and beautifully moisturised.
