Step 1 Paint your place mats in desired colours. We used Resene Wafer, Resene Brown Sugar and Resene Gold Coast.
Step 2 Paint your wooden knobs in the same colours. You will need two coats for best coverage.
Step 3 On one of the place mats draw on a face in pencil.
Step 4 Using a thin paint brush paint over the pencil face outline. We used Resene Milk Chocolate.
Step 5 Paint your dowel sticks in Resene Milk Chocolate.
Step 6 Glue your painted wooden knobs to the middle of each of the place mats and leave for a few hours to form a bond.
Step 7 Glue your pom poms to your painted dowel sticks and leave to dry.
Step 8 Glue your painted dowel sticks to the back of the painted head.
Step 9 Depending on what you want to hang on the hooks, fasten finished place mats to wall with either large 3M hanging strips or flat picture hook strips.
