DIY: Painted pallet stack

A pile of pallets makes perfect party furniture - for indoor or al fresco occasions. simply paint, stack and serve!
Furniture need not be expensive, especially if it is for short-term use. Set the scene for summer parties with a simple stack of upcycled pallets. A stack of four creates a good height for kids to reach, go higher if you are catering to adults. Pallets are readily available at many local manufacturers or search online for options in your area. Most companies are happy to give them away to keen DIYers.
You will need:
◼️ Pallets
◼️ Sandpaper and a craft knife
◼️ Paintbrushes
◼️ Resene Lumbersider paint in your choice of colours.
Method:
1. Use a craft knife to trim off any rough splinters and then sand the timber where necessary.
2. Paint your pallets using Resene Lumbersider in colours of your choice. Apply two thick coats to help seal the rough-sawn timber.
3. Stack pallets, decorate, and you’re ready to party!
Top tip: For added variety, paint the slats multiple colours, or use Resene Blackboard Paint so the pallets can do a double act as a space to draw on too.
