DIY: flower hooks and shelves

These simple DIY flower hooks and shelves can be whipped up in a few hours and are a great storage solution for your little one's bits and pieces.

You will need:

🗹  5 flower shapes (ours were from Kmart and are 30 x 30 cm)

🗹  3 coasters

🗹  3 wooden knobs

🗹  Wood glue

🗹  Jigsaw

🗹  Ruler, pencil and paint brush

🗹  Pine for shelves (ours were 20.5 x 13.5 cm)

🗹  Screws

🗹  Resene testpots

Step 1  Paint three of each of the coasters, knobs and flowers in each of the Resene colours (Resene Lola, Resene Float and Resene Oxygen) for the wall hooks.

Step 2  Glue the painted coaster to the middle of the painted flower with PVA wood glue and then glue the wooden painted knob to the coaster. You could keep the hooks all the same colour or mix them up like we did.

Step 3  Measure and cut your pine for the shelves. Ours were 20.5 x 13.5 cm wide.

Step 4  Cut the pine (we used a Jigsaw to do this).

Step 5  Paint the remaining two of the flower shapes for the shelves and the two pieces of pine for the shelves. We painted ours in Resene I do and Resene Havelock Blue.

Step 6  Screw the shelves onto the flowers from the back  to secure the shelf.

Step 7  Either screw directly onto the wall or use large flat picture hanger hooks to hang up your shelves.

Step 8  Add your items to your shelves and hooks.
