Kids bedroom: a charming space for rest and play

Providing a space for rest and for play, this bedroom is a playful twist on heritage charm.

PATTERN ON PATTERN

When mixing patterns, remember to mix up the scale of the patterns. We used two petite prints for the wallpaper mixed with larger patterns for the bedding. The eye also needs a place to rest so layering up too many patterns together will look and feel chaotic. To combat that we selected prints in similar colours and broke them up with one wall painted a solid colour; layered with art prints.

Create mini themes through the room by grouping ideas. We have matched the two animal prints with the bear bag in the top as they all naturally sit well together.

TESTING 123...

If you are unsure on a colour palette for your child's room, try out the colours together on a doll's house or something similar to see how they look together. This will give you a chance to play around with proportions of colours as well as seeing how it all looks together with the wallpaper.
