Here's a stylish nursery with just a touch of 'cowboy'
You don't need to go all out with bandannas and fringing to make a perfect room for your little cowboy.
Lisa and Scott Slusher from Dallas, Texas, show how just a few touches of cowboy regalia is enough to give a light and airy room a whiff of the OK corral.
Lisa, a stylist, and her husband, a photographer, clearly put their heart and soul into the décor of their son State's room. But Lisa admits she hates to pay more than $20 for anything. So they hunted down auction house bargains, such as a vintage wooden gun and Ranch Style Beans print, as well as a guitar signed by Willy Nelson. The vintage cot was a beloved family hand-me down. And all those finds were set against off-white walls and a plain shelving unit from IKEA.
State's room has two walls of windows, so his clever folks made curtain rods from hardware store finds and hung homemade curtains in a white flowing fabric. If you like this industrial look, a quick search on the internet will garner you some instructions on how to make your own curtain rods from old pipes. Source some retro fabrics, cushions and bunting for spots of colour and you're almost there!
