Good bits: What impressed me most about this pump is how great the suction is! I was able to express a good amount of milk in quite a short time. It is also very comfortable as it has a soft and gentle massage cushion. It is very well designed, not only for effective suction but for easy storage and travelling. It looks good and that’s a plus because I am a believer in pretty pumps — they make us happier about having to express milk. This pump can also run on AA batteries, without any reduction in power. The pump goes into stimulation mode automatically when turned on. There is no pre-set time for this mode so you can let it run for as long as you need for let-down. The travel cover which attaches to the suction cup is another excellent feature. You can pump and then keep the pump in the fridge so you don’t have to clean it twice in a day.
Tricky bits: To me, there is only one tricky bit and it is the instruction booklet. It is very wordy and takes a while to fully understand it. The booklet also has instructions for two different models, which can be a bit confusing for baby brain-addled mums.
Bottom line: You can’t go wrong buying an Avent breast pump. They are extremely reliable, effective and you know what you’re getting. Avent seems to think of everything you may need in a pump.

28/08/2013 -I have used my Avent pump every day at least once a day sometimes up to 5. It has never missed a beat. It is small enough to take away. Expressing allows other family members to assist in feeding my little one. It has also allowed him to get use to taking a bottle meaning I don't need to worry about transitioning him when I return to work.

14/08/2013 -I was expressing with a hospital grade pump for 3 months before I bought this and i much preferred the Avent. It's extremely portable (Can be run on AA batteries), very light, incredibly comfortable and just plain pretty! Only things I didn't really like was the noise (Not too loud and you do get used to it but it is there) and that if I bent over while pumping to pick something up the seal wasn't watertight and it let my milk out a wee bit. But other than that I love it! Very good pump!
