20/06/2023 -The vast world of baby monitors can be overwhelming when trying to decide the best option for your household. The vtech BM3800-2 offers more features than most which at first glance can seem overwhelming, just take the time to read the instructions so you know your way around the numerous functions or you might find yourself turning something on unintentionally. At first thought and a current parent of just one child I wondered if two cameras were one too many, however with an impending second child I find myself realizing the ease of being able to have two kids, two cameras, two separate rooms, and just one parent monitor! In the short term we utilized one of the wall-mounting brackets for one of the camera’s (perfect for keeping away from curious children) and we have kept the other available for taking to the grandparents when they’re on babysitting duty! The vtech BM3800N-2 has all the basics you want in a monitor such as room temperature monitoring, two-way talk-back intercom, colour screen and volume controls but there are a few other features that take this monitor to another level. The ability to tilt, pan and zoom in and out the cameras from the parent unit is excellent when you’re wanting to get a better angle to see your child but not pop back and forth into their bedroom. It is also helpful as they get older and move around more in bed. The white noise and lullaby function is great for limiting the amount of other baby ‘tools’ and how many other things you have to try to find batteries or plugs for in their bedroom. In terms of battery life on the parent unit, this one lasts a long time with up to 19 hours, so you don’t have to be a super organised parent to ensure your parent monitor is ready to go. At this time, I haven’t utilized the starry nights or night light functions, however has my child gets older the nightlight option may come in handy and the starry nights might be a fun or helpful distraction for an upset child. What is unique is that you can set this to come on when sound is detected. When looking for your next baby monitor the vtech BM3800N-2 should definitely be a contender, It provides you with great features and longevity for the future.
