18/06/2018 -I’ve tried the Lunette menstrual cup for two periods now, and would definitely recommend it. However I’d question the sizing guidelines. I’m a petite person and I’ve had two kids. The sizing instructions say that if you’ve given birth you should choose Model 2, the large model. I feel I probably actually need model 1. What I liked: It was super easy to clean. The holes around the top of the cup are high so it takes a lot of fluid. Once you’ve folded the cup in the ‘C’ fold, it’s easy to insert, and pops open easily. I initially found the stem protruded, which was uncomfortable, but I managed to comfortably move it higher. Pulling it out was also mildly uncomfortable, but again that could be a sizing issue. I read one of the reviews and discovered that pinching before you pull it out it helps to break the seal, so will try that next time! It’s a superficial thing, but I really loved that the colours weren’t ‘medical’ – the Lunette Cup comes blue, orange, yellow, purple and clear. I’m so happy to have found an alternative to tampons!

10/05/2018 -After humming and haring whether to buy a menstrual cup after minimal research, i received this Lunette Cup via OHbaby! Upon opening the box, I was afraid, but was quickly relieved after reading the instructions! Boiling the cup for the first time seemed to soften the silicone making it a lot easier to fold, and put my nerves at ease. After taking a couple of goes at inserting, it seemed a breeze, then the daunting task of removing when it's full started up, but who was I kidding, not a leak, spill or drop EVER! I suggest taking your time the first couple of times, to get to know your body and the cup working together but ...after 2 periods down with my lady cup (yes thats what I'm call her), I will not look at another Tampon, Pad, etc EVER AGAIN - this is a God send with endo and harsh cramping - I haven't had a complaint with it - so far so good till death do us part.

06/05/2018 -I had been thinking about trying a cup for a while but was unsure where to start, so jumped at the chance to trial the Lunette cup. I was able to choose a cup that would be the best fit for me with guidance from the Lunette website and also chose from a range of colours! The cup also arrived with a wee storage bag which was very useful. At first I found the size of the cup a little intimidating, but once folded it is easy to insert and with a bit of practice I was able to get a good fit. I have struggled with very heavy flow since having my son and found the cup great for this, it saved me from having to change a tampon several times a day as well as the benefits for the environment. I found removing the cup a bit more challenging as I struggled to get a good grip on the base to break the seal. However, with a bit of practice and guidance from the website I found a position that worked well for this. After emptying and a bit of a rinse it is ready to go again. Overall, I really liked the cup and will continue to use it as it is just as easy as using tampons but saves time and money as well as reducing waste!

05/04/2018 -I was a mooncup user for a couple of years pre-kids, but after having two babies (via c-section) I found my old mooncup uncomfortable to insert and painful to use. So I hesitantly went back to using sanitary pads. What I loved about the Lunette menstrual cup is that it's available in a smaller / shorter size for more petite girls like myself. The shorter size is perfect for my post-baby body, which now has a lower sitting cervix, which explains the pain and discomfort I experienced with my previous mooncup. I have a relatively heavy flow which means I have to empty it a couple of times during the day and once at night on the first two days of my period, but on later and lighter flow days I find it lasts all day and overnight. My favourite part is that it's good for the environment and saves money on tampons and pads!

23/03/2018 -I have been slowly replacing all of the products in my home with waste free, cruelty free, sulphate free and petrochemical free products. When I had the opportunity to try a Lunette menstrual cup I was very excited. I was a little anxious about changing what I was "used to" and about the insertion of the cup. My mind was quickly put as ease because the instructions were very clear and the cup was so much easier to use than I thought it would be. The fact that the Lunette cup is made of medical grade silicon and is BPA, latex and rubber free made me feel reassured about putting it into my body. I have seen cheaper cups on the market and always wondered what they were made from. After the first day of using my Lunette menstrual cup I had to chop the piece at the bottom off (as per the instructions) because it was irritating my lady bits. I also purchased a 2nd Lunette cup because I liked it so much and I preferred to change to a clean cup after emptying it. I am so happy that these cups are going to save me around $15 per month on pads for the next ten years. Knowing that I will be producing less waste and don't need to worry about the kids going into the bathroom rubbish bin during "that time" of the month is a massive bonus. Another great thing is that my period lasted a day less that usual, yippee!

09/03/2018 -The Lunette Menstrual Cup has been a game changer for me. Before receiving one to review I had been toying with the idea of getting one, but I guess, like a lot of people, I was worried about the cost and if it didn't work for me it being a waste of money and also worries about exactly how would it work. They seem like silly thoughts now. When it first arrived I was surprised with how supple it was and it was more flexible then it looked. It came with a nice discreet bag to keep it in and the instructions for use were simple to follow. When it came time to try it out I had no issue with getting it in. To my surprise it was easy to do, you just need to be relaxed and confident with your body. My main issue with it was trimming the the stem part as I found it quite annoying. It took a few attempts to get it right and once I had that right I couldn't feel the cup and it was very comfortable. In fact you pretty much forget you even have your period. Getting it out is a bit trickier as you need to pinch it to break the seal, but like anything practice makes perfect. The contents are simply tipped out, rinse the cup and back in it goes. Since having kids I have found tampons irritating and uncomfortable but had no issues like that with this. I loved that I could be out and about carefree with no worries about changing a pad or tampon. Likewise running about with my kids I felt completely secure. And again I slept so much better during my period with the cup then without. I didn't have to worry about possible leakage or changing a pad or tampon in the night. It really is a confidence booster. And maybe it was all in my head but it felt like my period was much shorter than normal - not to mention less messy. I'm a convert. While I appreciate the cost is fairly expensive once you work out the cost of monthly pads and tampons it pays itself off in no time. And even better it saves so much waste going into landfills.
