Be inspired by the woman behind Addison Clothing
Hayley Addison is the woman behind Addison Clothing. We ask her some questions about her business and the family life juggle.
Tell us a bit about your business:
Addison clothing was created out of the need for breastfeeding clothing that was fashionable, functional and affordable. When I started the brand four years ago there weren’t a lot of breastfeeding options available – so with a four-year-old and a newborn, I set myself the task of making some breastfeeding dresses. I would often stay up late, sewing into the night making clothes. The brand has grown massively since then and now all our styles are made by our manufacturers.
What’s your biggest inspiration?
The modern, busy mum is where I get my inspiration from. We need clothes that are comfy, suit bodies that have just had babies, and then support us through motherhood with the ability to breastfeed in. Our range is designed to be comfortable and look good.
How do you find a balance between family life and your business?
It was hard in the early years of building the business as I was working a lot to get the brand up and running. But I have learned so much about running a business since then. We’re lucky to have amazing staff now, which means I can take weekends off and just work during school hours.
What’s on the horizon for your business?
More clothes, more styles, plus we have a new printed t-shirt range coming out soon which I am really excited about!
