Be inspired by the woman behind Chuckles nappies

Joyce Tang is the woman behind Chuckles nappies. We ask her some questions about her business inspiration and what's happening next.

Tell us a bit about your business:

Chuckles began in March 2020 during maternity leave with my first child. My husband and I decided to use cloth nappies as they were safer on our baby’s bum, greener on the environment, and also saved us money. In the midst of figuring out parenthood, designing our own range of cloth nappies was also a creative outlet for me to design stylish yet sustainable products – saving my sanity! We use only natural fibers, such as bamboo, cotton and hemp, which offer amazing absorbency yet keep our nappies trim and soft. We also stock accessories such as cloth wipes, wetbags, and nursing pads.

What’s your biggest inspiration?

The planet. When I look around and see all the wondrous, beautiful creations, all I want to do is preserve and protect the earth for our future generations to come! By doing my part, I could prevent more garbage from going into landfill and hopefully encourage other parents to do the same.

How do you find a balance between family life and your business?

When you are a work-at-home mum, it is always a struggle to draw the line between work and family. If there is anything I’ve learned from starting Chuckles, it’s that I’m allowed to take my time. I’m allowed to take time off and work only during designated hours. I’m allowed to take my time to complete the never-ending tasks as well as spend time with my precious daughter, husband, family and friends.

What’s on the horizon for your business?

We are always listening to feedback from customers and actively striving to provide the best wherever possible. In the next year, we will be bringing out some new and improved changes to our current designs, as well as other mum and baby products. It’s all pretty exciting!
