Be inspired by the woman behind Go Mama
Natalie Pitts is the woman behind Go Mama. We ask her some questions about her business and the family life juggle.
Tell us a bit about your business:
Go Mama is a maternity activewear brand. We offer comfortable and functional budget-friendly clothing, accessories and equipment designed to support women on their motherhood journey. The brand came about after I’d gone through a period of postnatal depression with my first child and used exercise as a management tool to strengthen my mental health. The aim of Go Mama is to support and inspire mamas to be the best version of themselves, whatever that may look like.
What’s your biggest inspiration?
Women on their motherhood journeys. We want to help create positive motherhood experiences and empower mamas to feel good about themselves and confident in their abilities. Becoming a mother can be really challenging so I hope the Go Mama range will motivate and inspire women to bridge the link between physical movement and mental wellbeing.
How do you find a balance between family life and your business?
Life is busy but I wouldn't have it any other way. My ‘day job’ is in the Royal New Zealand Air Force so most of the Go Mama work is done in the evening, or I use weekends to prepare for the week ahead. I'm really passionate about the brand, so I enjoy using any spare time to work on it. The business is home-based and the kids love getting involved so it makes the balance easier and more fun to have them alongside me when I'm working.
What’s on the horizon for your business?
Establishing the business more and developing relationships with New Zealand’s maternal mental health units.
