A picture perfect baby shower!
Surrounded by her closest family and friends at a very special venue, Brianna Berry shares her picture-perfect baby shower with us.
Where was the location and what was the theme?
We had our baby shower at The Farmhouse in Clevedon – it’s the cafe our family own, located near my parents' house where I grew up, so it holds a special place in my heart.
Since we knew we were having a baby girl, I wanted the theme to be very girly and cute. We decided on having lots of feminine pastel colours and florals to emphasise this. We also incorporated heaps of little Jellycat soft toys into the decorations which are now in Maeve’s nursery.
Tell us about the party...
Ps. I Love You Events did the styling. They planned our wedding perfectly so I knew Astrid would do the same with our baby shower. We had about 40 close family and friends come to the baby shower. I decided to do a sit-down lunch with sharing plates prepared by The Farmhouse. This was a good excuse for me to sit down for an hour or so and give my feet a break from my heels!
I didn’t want any activities; I don’t really like too much attention on myself and just wanted to enjoy the day with my loved ones by mingling. I know it’s traditional to open gifts at a baby shower, but I thought it would be quite special to open them at home with my husband. The day turned into quite the party as there was lots of champagne and the girls really made the most of that!
Were there any special moments that stood out?
I found the whole day to be really special. There is nothing I love more than spending time with my family and friends. To share the day with 40 of the closest women in my life meant the absolute world to me. It really hit home how fortunate I am to have so many amazing ladies in my life and how lucky our little girl is to grow up with them in her life also.
Tips for planning a baby shower?
My number one tip would be to make sure you don’t leave your baby shower too close to your due date. I had to change the original date due to Covid. The date we ended up having was six weeks out from my due date. However, our baby girl Maeve came 10 days later – a whole month early. I’m really grateful we got to have the shower just in time!
